First Tears

I am feeling rather happy today
The weather warm and sunny
The sky a beautiful bright blue
Not a care in the world
No problems
No worries
No stress
No him, but who cares
I, for one, have long since long since ceased to care
And anyway, who said I ever really cared in the first place

Spring is in the air
Joy is in my heart
It is the first time I have felt such joy since

There is a sense of purpose in my stride
I greet all about me with a smile
Nothing can hurt me
I am strong
I am unyielding
It is such a wonderful day, nothing, no-one can distress me

Crying
Me
No never
Are my eyes starting to water
Damn
How did that happen
Slight sniff, nothing to worry about
Perchance I am getting a cold, a couple of asprins should cure that
It is such a lovely day
I’ll not let a slight cold get me down

OK OK
So perhaps I do still love him
So what
A tear, who me, no never
You are mistaken
It must be my cold making my eyes water
Yet as I think of him
The warmth of the sun fails to dry the water on my cheeks
