Post music videos and video clips (only legal content , preferably Youtube)

you already know where I am standing on this, but here's few thoughts:

- music sounds good, not great but good.

- Halley Luv is very beautiful, but looks much better when she is dressed properly (not slutty).

- hardly any Kurdish dancing, too much strip club type dancing.

- in comparsion to many other mid-east female singers, she's not tht bad.

- bad representation of Kurdistan ( too much flag waving in an inappropriate type of music video).

At the center of the triangle, it seems to be a face of wolf. So perhaps is she a hidden Turkish nationalist :-D

I just discovered article an excellent on Helly in the Guardian :ymapplause:

Exert:

More recently, she is due to play the lead role in a new film by Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi and says she has been offered a role in a new movie with Jennifer Lopez.

Excert:

"The peshmerga women in the video are a symbol for our strong women that have been fighting for our country and [for] independence."

Helly deserves congratulations for showing some of these brave women :ymapplause:

Exert:

A 2005 referendum saw 98.8% vote in favour of an independent Kurdish state in north Iraq, and the largely autonomous Kurdish region has enjoyed relative stability and economic prosperity in comparison with the war-torn south of Iraq.

I have personally mentioned the referendum several times and am delighted to see it mentioned elsewhere - I was starting to think that I was the only person who knew such a referendum took place :-o

One might ask oneself why - if 98.8% voted in favour of an independent Kurdistan - are they not yet independent - that is because rather than hand the results of the refendum to the UN or declare it internationally - they gave the results to the Iraqi government so it was probably filled in the nearest rubbish bin X(

Final point:

The video clip is a dishonor to the highly professional, tough and disciplined Kurdish fighters from all parts of Kurdistan (over 50% of the YPG are fake fighters, the YPJ). She should of used real fighters and in real uniforms, the is the worst part of te video, huge mistake.

Something makes me doubt that real YPG would have accepted to be shot in a such ole-ole pop-video clip. Does not fit exactly with the PKK's austere morality.

They are not PKK. It's just that the PKK supported and helped the people of Rojava, while other Kurdish parties tried to cotrol and dictate to the people and are more interested in their own self interests . And yes it's true that some YPG commanders an soliers are ex-PKK who joined the YPG, but to call the YPG PKK is inaccuate and is propaganda that only serves agendas of enemies.

I thought it was the PYD who were thought to be connect to the PKK not the YPG who - I feel sure are certainly not connected to the PKK :-?

True, but the common conception is that the YPG are the PYD military wing (PYD mostly commands it, but YPG is divervse) but are also TEV-MED. However it's true the PYD was founded by PKK, but it is it own separate entity and its not PKK either.

Here's a very good, acurate and thorough report about this:

http://www.kurdishinfo.com/rojava-kurdi ... tion-syria

Btw, can somebody place download the picture in the article. That flag looks good.

They just like Ocalan, and not all of them put up his picture. Some used to put up Barzani pics, until the recently.

It's just that the PKK outsmarted and out out maneuvered the KDP and the people are won over by them. They see PKK and Ocalan as on their side.
