Mental Arithmetic Competition
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Two students from the Kurdistan Region secured top honors at the Worldwide Mental Arithmetic Competition held in Baghdad on Saturday. Harez Lawe, trained at the Sulaimani Institute, clinched first place, while Abdullah Peshawa, a standout student from Erbil trained at Kurdistan Aynda School, earned second place
This competition, which saw participation from over 450 children across 12 countries including Russia, Turkey, Iran, Ukraine, Germany, and Iraq, was the first of its kind in which Kurdish students competed. The event drew young minds from around the globe, including participants from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and more.
- The Governor of Sulaimani, Haval Abubakir, praised the success of the students, highlighting that this was the first time Kurdish students had participated in such a prestigious competition. He expressed his pride in Lawe and Peshawa’s exceptional performance, noting that they represented the Kurdistan Region with great honor
