Kurdistan Women's Volleyball Teams Win

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani congratulated the winners of the Iraqi Women’s Volleyball Championship on Saturday, following Sanharib’s victory over Akad Ankawa in the tournament final

“I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the president, coaches, and players of Sanharib in Duhok, Akad in Ankawa, and Qaraqosh/Bakhdeda in Nineveh Plain, for winning the first, second, and third places in the Iraqi Women's Volleyball Championship,” Barzani said in a post on X.

Sanharib claimed the championship title after defeating Akad Ankawa by three sets to one in a decisive match held Friday evening at the Akad Ankawa Hall in Erbil. The game attracted a large crowd that filled the stands.

This victory marks Sanharib’s second consecutive title in the Iraqi Women’s Volleyball League.

“I wish them continued success, and we reiterate our support for athletes and the sports movement in Kurdistan,” PM Barzani added.
