Those videos are very useful as I have watched most of them a year ago.

This is the channel that has 91 videos of that conference.

Yes SK has 3 oil refineries at the moment one in Kerkuk which belongs to KRG and two more u/c one in Zaxo one in Kalar . but the are only refining gasoline and petrol but they can't refine all crude elements hence KRG sells the left overs to other countries via trucks but we don't sell oil bcoz we don't have own pipeline yet it's u/c and I posted a pic of the work but it will be completed in Aug 2013.

We need another two more state of art refineries like the one in Erbil connected to Khurmala dome one of the 3 kirkuk field structures so we don't have to wait for Iraq to beg them for refined oil for local usages , Iraq suppose to supply Kurdistan with 90,000 refined oil but they only use to send 39000 and now they are halting it end of this month , it was actually halted but was restarted by Talabani's request for an extra month .

But now KRG is going to export oil via the pipelines to turkey get them refined and truck them back , till more major refineries are built and we won't need turkey or Iraq to refine oil for us , but building such a massive refinery needs quite few years and Kurdistan has now got one major and several minors but we need two more majors to fuel SK without any shortages .

Al-tikriti is busy sending letters to Obama telling him to cancel exxon contract. Well i dont think that exxon will be doing that since bagdad already barred them from the oil auction. Exxon is tired of Bagdad nagging all day and barking

Iraq Kurdistan sees more oil deals with majors soon

* Says output target of 1 million bpd is achievable

* Sees more firms coming to region in next months

* Working to ensure exports resume

By Peg Mackey
LONDON, June 19 (Reuters) - Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan expects more oil majors to follow Exxon Mobil Corp in the next few months in striking deals in the region, where oil shipments will resume, its natural resources minister said, despite a dispute with Baghdad.

The U.S. company became the first oil major to move into the northern Kurdish region in mid-October when it signed a deal with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

"The market is very buoyant in Kurdistan. We have a lot of majors circling around looking at new PSCs (production-sharing contracts) and certainly mergers and acquisitions," Natural Resources Minister Ashti Hawrami told an energy conference in London on Tuesday.

"So in the next few months, we expect to see another two or three major companies coming and working in Kurdistan."

French major Total is looking to secure a package of exploration blocks in Kurdistan, and Norway's Statoil is also looking closely at KRG exploration blocks, industry sources have said.

Exxon's deal, involving six blocks, angered the Iraqi central government in Baghdad, which holds that any oil contracts signed with Kurdistan are illegal. Arbil and Baghdad are locked in a long-running feud over oil and land.

Exxon is keeping a low profile in Kurdistan, but industry sources said the company has issued a tender for drilling rigs.

Exxon declined to comment.

The KRG halted oil exports in April due to a payment dispute with Baghdad. Before then, contractors in Kurdistan were producing and exporting about 200,000 barrels per day (bpd), said Hawrami, who was adamant shipments would resume.

"The oil will flow ... regardless of an agreement, and I infinitely prefer an agreement," he said.

"When you have 1 million barrels a day stranded, it will find its way to the market despite the political haggling."

About 60,000 bpd is still being supplied to the domestic market. Industry sources say Arbil is prepared to start sending crude by truck to Turkey soon, possibly as part of a crude-for-products swap.

Kurdistan holds an estimated 45 billion barrels of oil reserves, and 25 to 30 exploration wells are now being drilled by contractors, the minister said. By 2014 to 2015, output should grow to 1 million bpd, he said.

"This is guaranteed and doable. We can achieve it if we eliminate the political obstacles in front of it," Hawrami said.

"We expect more discoveries this year to bring us to our new target of 2 million barrels per day by 2019."

This Tikriti is trying to act tough. He thinks he can control kurds with his masters (Iran) help. He must understand that kurdistan have been free since 1991 and that he cant do anything about it. He knows that any military moves will strip him of power like all other Iraqi dictators before. He better learned that lesson not to mess with kurds.

Iraq's Maliki warns of 'wars' over Exxon deal with Kurdistan

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Wed Jun 20, 2012 5:20 am

June 19, 2012

BAGHDAD, — Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki believes a contract between U.S. oil giant ExxonMobil and Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region is dangerous and could lead to "wars," his spokesman told AFP Tuesday.

ExxonMobil signed an oil exploration deal with the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq covering six areas, including two that are said to be outside the region and claimed by both Baghdad and Kurdistan.

The central government says all oil contracts must go through Baghdad and regards any that do not as illegal.

"Maliki views these deals as representing a very dangerous initiative that may lead to the outbreak of wars" and " breaking up the unity of Iraq," Ali Mussawi said of the Kurdistan contract.

"Maliki is prepared to go to the highest levels for the sake of preserving the national wealth and the necessary transparency in investing the wealth of the Iraqis, especially oil," Mussawi said.

The premier "sent a message to American President Barak Obama last week urging him to intervene to prevent ExxonMobil from going in this direction."

Exxon and Kurdistan inked the exploration deal Oct. 18. Baghdad has since said the deal is frozen, which Kurdistan has denied.

Iraqi Kurdistan has been locked in a standoff with Baghdad for months, one of a series of intertwined political crises which have escalated into calls for Maliki to be removed from power.

Maliki asked Obama to halt Exxon deal with Kurdistan Region

ERBIL, June 20 (AKnews) - Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki asked US President Barack Obama to intervene to halt oil giant Exxon Mobil moving forward in its deal with the Kurdistan Region, warning of severe consequences on the stability of Iraq, said Maliki's adviser.

lMedia adviser Ali al-Mousawi said: "Maliki explained to Obama in a letter sent this month the severe consequences of Exxon Mobile's deal and its negative affect on Iraq's stability," reported Reuters.

Mousawi added: "Despite Exxon's letter confirming halting work in the Kurdistan Region, still we receive information that the exploration work is ongoing.

Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson stated in April that his company will continue its operations in the Kurdistan Region and is committed to the contracts that it has signed with both the Iraqi government and with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

The oil outfit signed a contract with KRG last year to explore six fields in the region.

This is the reason we´ll become independent. Al-Tikriti thinks he own kurdistan and that he can take our oil for free. He knows he cant win so he seeks us help. Exxon mobil is known for not bowing to political pressure that means Al-Tikriti can bark all day long.
