The chairman of Turkey opposition pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), Selahattin Demirtas, will depart Sunday for a visit in the United States, the party said in a statement.
Demirtas will meet with US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and government representatives.
The BDP delegation will also visit Turkey's US Ambassador Namik Tan.
Following talks in Washington, Demirtas will be hosted by the Kurdish community in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
BDP's Vice President for External Relations Nazmi Gur will accompany the BDP chairman.
Demirtas and Gur would participate in a conference on October 28 at the National Press Club in Washington, to be attended by many US politicians, journalists and academics.
The BDP delegation is set to return to Turkey on November 4.
