There is NO reason to celebrate the PKK

As long as the PKK continues along it's rather confused path of Marxism and loony left-wing groups - it's support will continue to decline

If the PKK were to become a force for Kurdish independence - then it would be worth celebrating

I have had friends who fought and died with the PKK because they were fighting for

At the time of Ocalan's arrest the PKK had a strong worldwide support network and 60,000 armed freedom fighters

When Ocalan was arrested the party crumbled, as Ocalan himself desperately made friends with the Turkish government turning against those who believed in an Independent Kurdistan in order to save his life

There were major splits within the party between those who wanted to continue the struggle for independence and Ocalan - even Ocalan's own brother tried to lead the party forward in the struggle for independence

Many in the party thought that Ocalan would change and turn against the Turkish government but instead of that Ocalan allowed himself to be used to further suppress Kurds with the so-called peace project that was nothing more than a rehash of all the demands and requirements of EU membership

In recent months - rather than enforcing a desire for Kurdish independence - the PKK has aligned itself with even more Marxist and loony left groups

All Kurds who support the Turkish government and want to be brothers with the Turks are

TRAITORS

to all those who died fighting for an independent

But you are dealing with Some Turks on high authority and these Turks, although live in 21 century, still intellectually have the same mentality of their Mongolian desert nomad forefathers of thousands of years ago. in addition of armed struggle you need to use intellectual means to tame them. Otherwise there is no hope to reach to any understanding with them.

I have several well known intellectual Kurdish friends - as does Piling - but the Turkish government is not interested in negating only controlling and suppressing

Many Kurdish intellectuals do NOT support the PKK - Intelligent people do not support Marxism
