Iranian regime agents tear down private satellite dishes in
Posted: Fri Apr 12, 2013 7:34 pmNCRI - Iranian regime's security forces have raided homes in Kurdistan province and ripped down satellite dishes to counter what they describe as 'the cultural offensive'.
Officials climbed on the roofs of houses in villages of Torkhan Abad and Kureh Musavi, near city of Marivan, on April 10, confiscating dishes and insulting residents.
The harsh action comes after a regime official warned on January 16 that tough measures would be imposed to counter unwanted cultural information reaching Iran.
Mansour Moradlou, the director of Social Affairs in Zanjan province, told the state-run Mehr news agency: "The use of satellite receivers in villages is alarming.
"The villages are vulnerable to social damage and the expanded use of satellites is an indication of this."
He added: "there needs to be extensive planning to counter such a cultural offensive. The religious organizations and clerics should be used to their full effect in this regard."
