Renowned Kurdish film director Taha Karimi died in a tragic accident on Wednesday 29th May. Taha directed several films, including ‘Storm’, ‘Border Life’ and ‘White Mountains’ and his contribution to the nascent Kurdish film industry was outstanding.
Taha’s films were screened at international festivals in India, Dubai, Germany and Italy.
He was working on his latest, One Thousand and One Apples’, a film about the Anfal tragedy.
This is a huge loss to the Kurdish film industry which need more people of Taha’s calibre.
