According to data of the No to Domestic Violence group, in the first five months of 2013 17 women have been killed, another 35 committed suicide by burning themselves while 28 rape cases have been recorded.

The group held a press conference today, Monday, July 8 and revealed the numbers regarding the conditions and issues of women in Kirkuk province.
According to the data revealed by the group, from January 1 until June 1 of this year, 17 women have been killed in Kirkuk province while in the same time period 35 women committed suicide by burning themselves, as well as 80 cases of hitting, 42 death threats and 28 rape cases being recorded.
