Moments ago, the head of the Arab faction of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, Abdullah Sami al-Asi was shot dead in Kirkuk, according to local police.

Kirkuk Now’s Ahmad Shwani is reporting from in front of the Kirkuk Azadi Teaching Hospital stating that al-Asi has not arrived at the hospital yet and there are speculations that along with al-Asi, two of his body guards have been killed as well.
“According to the primary surveys, a group of gunmen opened fire on al-Asi using silenced weapons,” Shwani added.
