Deadly blasts hit Kirkuk

Three car bombs in Kirkuk have left one person dead and at least another 23 injured.

The first car bomb was detonated in the Nasr neighborhood, south of Kirkuk, according to the director of the Kirkuk Health Department with one person being killed and another 12 left injured and late before midday, another car bomb was detonated in the Wassit neighborhood located south of Kirkuk, and according to security forces six persons were left injured there.
While yet another car bomb shook the city this afternoon in the Askari neighborhood of Kirkuk, east of the city leaving at least five persons injured.
Local security forces have told al-Sumaria news that the attack was carried out by a passenger car.
The attacks are part of the recent insurgency and waves of violence across the country, as according to the United Nations, at least 800 Iraqis have killed in violent attacks in August.
