Lieutenant General Jabar Yawar, the secretary general and spokesman of the Ministry of Peshmarga of the Kurdistan regional Government stated that following the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to Erbil and Masoud Barzani’s visit to Baghdad, seven different committees were formed to find solutions for the issues between the two sides.

Yawar told the official website of the Ministry of Peshmarga “One of the committees is the military committee which to this date has held two meetings, the latest one being on August 3.”

“We, the delegations of the Ministry of Peshmarga are waiting for a visit of the Iraqi counterparts to Erbil to sort out the isses,” Yawar added.

Disputes and issues between the two governments erupt every now and then and each time lead to military movements, particularly in the disputed territories and more specifically in Kirkuk while the root of the issues originates from the administration of the security dossier between the two governments.
