Results of Iraqi Kurdistan's parliamentary elections (IHEC)

The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) during a press conference held on Saturday evening, September 28, announced the results of Kurdistan region's parliamentary elections,www.ekurd.net with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), headed by Kurdistan president, Massoud Barzani, comes first, Gorran (Change) movement, second and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), lead by Iraqi president Jalal Talabani, comes third.

In a press conference held on Saturday, Sep. 28, in Erbil Chairman of IHEC Commission, Sarbast Mustafa, announced election results:

1. Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP): 719004 votes
2. Gorran (Change) Movement: 446095
3. Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK): 323867
4. Islamic Union of Kurdistan: 178681
5. Islamic Group in Kurdistan: 113260
6. Islamic Movement in Kurdistan Iraq: 20795
7. Kurdistan Socialist Democratic Party: 11828
8. Freedom: 11768
9. Third Trend: 8268
10. Rafidain Slate: 5963

With 95 percent of the votes from the September 21 election counted, the KDP had 719,004 votes, Gorran had 446,095 and the PUK was in third place with 323,827.
Two Islamic parties placed fourth and fifth, with nearly 300,000 votes between them, followed by more than a dozen smaller groups.

It is a sad time for PUK supporters :((

I think that is partly due to lack of information about Talabani's health - which I suspect is really bad or they would have been able to take a photo of him to encourage his party

ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq',— The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Committee had announced in a press conference held on Wednesday, October 02, 2013, in the capital Erbil, the final results of Kurdistan Parliamentary Elections for 2013, PUK media reported:

1. Kurdistan Democratic Party gets 38 seats

2. Change Movement (Gorran) gets 24 seats

3. Patriotic Union of Kurdistan gets 18 seats

4. The Islamic Union of Kurdistan sets 10 seats

5. slamic Brotherhood in Kurdistan gets 6 seats

6. The Islamic Movement gets 1 seat

7. Freedom List gets 1 seat

8. Kurdistan Communist Party gets 1 seat

9. The Minorities in Kurdistan get 5 seats for Turkmen, 5 seats for Christians and 1 seat for Armenian

I am not happy with the Gorran Movement winning so many seats :ymsick:

I cannot understand why anyone would vote for them especially now when it is extremely important for the people of Kurdistan to work together

If Kurds fail to unit there is lightly to be an upsurge in violence spreading into Kurdistan from Iraq X(

People who voted for PUK before would have never voted for KDP. So they did choice Gorran because, at least they are sure that Nawshirwan is alive…
