Kurdish Hero hugged suicide bomber, saved many lives

ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq',— A hug isn’t always to express love or a way to show each other that we care. There is so much a hug is able to do. Sometimes you need to be super brave to bear hugging someone when that one is trying to take your life and other’s life away. Ironically, a hug can be your last defense in dealing with a terrorist when you have no other choice but to scarify your own life.

On Sunday September 29th Hazim Majid Mustafa, a security staff in Erbil’s General Security, saved the life of so many people when he hugged a suicide bomber who held an explosive belt trying to enter the headquarter.

Raid, a security member and an eye witness who was injured said that “on the day of the attack, one of the suicide terrorist who held a massive explosive belt tried to enter the main gate. It was the beginning of the week and so many people were inside of the building. I think Hazim Majid Mustafa had those people in mind when he shockingly hugged the suicide bomber, held him tight until he blew himself up and martyred Mustafa”.

Another eye witness said “what he did was so heroic. He tried to prevent further damage that could happen. He should be remembered as a brave man who saved so many lives.”

On Mustafa’s heroic action on the day of attack, Kurdish authorities suggested to build a monument of him in front of the Interior Ministry of Erbil.

The Interior Ministry and the Security Department of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Erbil came under attack on Sunday, resulting in seven deaths and 62 injuries.

Islamic terrorist group called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed the responsibility later that day.

Such a brave man… Not only facing Death but embracing it. And what a difference with a kamikaze : One is ready to die for killing, the other for saving.

What a wonderfully brave man - yes they should build a monument of him - he act of bravery should always be remembered - his family and friends should be proud

As for the suicide bombers - perhaps they should think more not just about the pain they inflict on others - but the pain and shame they inflict on their own families X(
