A Syrian Catholic prelate has told that Fides news agency that he opposes a proposal to make northeastern Syria an autonomous Kurdish region. “The only ones who want to create a Kurdish autonomous region in northern Syria are the militants of the PKK [Kurdistan Workers’ Party],” said Archbishop Jacques Behnan Hindo of Hassaké-Nisibi. “The project does not even receive acclaim from other Kurds, even less by Muslim tribes and us Christians.” The United States and several other nations have designated the PKK, which is based in Turkey, as a terrorist organization. “In this area of Syria, the PKK Kurdish militias are holding a clash with Islamist groups affiliated with Al-Qaeda,” said Archbishop Hindo.

Funny that the christians of Iraq used to same type of statement thinking that it was going to save them from Islamist arabs . Nothing can save Christians in syria if Asad regime fall and the only hope they have is a Kurdish region within syria . Syrain militants are already destroying their churches and forcing them to convert to Islam .

Syrian Churches' leaders are mostly Baath collaborators, as was the former Iraqi clergy. They are nothing but Syrian agents.

Then we should just let Al Nusra or ISIS get a hold if this guy, he will start singing a different tune very quickly, especially when he finds out that Assad is barrly able to save his own ass.

Christians in the region will collaborate with anyone who has power and offer them protection period . Their line of policies are soley based on safety and that is why people have little respect for them . They lack principles/stands and mostly just put their head down .
In turkey , Iraq and Syria they even go as far as offering their women in return for protection and cheap favors . They are mentally broken people and bend easily due to atrocities committed against them for many generations .

I think we are better than than heval . They are poor people who would say anything to avoid another massacre . I promise you when Western kurdistan is free , you will see those who stay lining up with big Kurdish flags in their hand , but they will mostly leave to West and their migration is already started
