New terrorist attacks in Kurdistan foiled

ARBIL/ Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish Asayish (Security) forces announced today foiling new terrorist attacks in the region and arresting some of the culprits.
Last September, 7 Kurdish security members were killed in suicidal attacks against Asayish headquarters in mid of Arbil, which was the first of its kind since May, 2007.
The September attack was done by a suicidal truck that resulted in killing 14 people.
The sources said that the terrorists "came from a neighboring country", referring to Syria.
The arrested terrorists were planning to attack Akra police station in Duhuk province.
One of the terrorists arrested was called Ahmed Qassim (Abu Qatada), born in 1966 and lives in Aleppo and the second was called Abdul Qadir Naser Khudhair, (Abu Abed), born in 1967 of Iraqi nationality and lives in Mosul.
The sources added that they were trained and sent to Duhuk province to commit suicide in the headquarters of the Asayish forces.
The Syrian terrorist was arrested in Akra city first and later the second one who was arrested by Mosul Asayish forces.
The confessions proved that both had the intention to commit suicide in Akra city, as the sources added.
