Barzani Agrees to Link Nineveh Plain With Kurdistan's Electr

The Head of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) , agreed on Thursday to link some administrative units in Nineveh Plain with Kurdistan's electricity to end energy scarcity problem , a local official in Nineveh said.
"After ongoing and intensive contacts with some competent authorities in the electric power field with KRG, I got the approval Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, to connect the electric network in Hamdaniya district, Bashiqah and Bartala sub-districts of all villages, with Kurdistan's Region network," the Head of the municipal council of Bashiqah sub- district, Sulaiman Sevo told "Shafaq News".
"Linking the network will start next Saturday as these areas will be equipped with 200 to 250 megawatts, which will contribute to end in a large extent the power shortage issue in these areas," he added.
Qaraqosh, Bartala and Bashiqah towns (north and north-east of Mosul) are considered as a part of Nineveh Plain which is inhabited by varied ethnic and national mixture.
