The demonstrators said the rally was in solidarity with the Kurdish resistance in neighboring Syria's Rojava region, and also to promote peace.
The demonstrators chanted slogans in support of cross-border peace, after co-leader of the Syrian Democratic Union Party announced that his party is ready for renewed talks with Ankara.
Highlights of this rally organized by Turkey's Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) include the social needs such as education, health services and employment for the Kurdish people of Rojava in northern Syria.
Reports show that Syria's Kurdish people are facing bad conditions because they don't have basic supplies such as medicines and food staples. In recent months, Kurdish areas in Syria have been the scene of fighting between Kurdish fighters and foreign-backed militants who are fighting the government of Syria.
