According to statistics from KRG`s Commission for Tourism, number of tourists that have visited Kurdistan Region in the last 8 months exceeds the rate of tourisms in the last year.
According to Nadr Rosti, spokesperson of KRG`s Commission for Tourism who spoke to PUKmedia, in the past 8 months, approximately 2 million tourists have come to Kurdistan Region, while this number was 2 million and 217 thousand for the last year.
The spokesperson also pointed out that the majority of the tourists are from Southern and Central Iraq and then Turkey, Iran, and other countries. He also equipped that regarding facilitation of visitation and tourism in Kurdistan Region, they have requested the related party for further facilitations for tourists.
