Kurdish- British agreement to open direct air route between Erbil and London
Shafaq News / Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced an agreement with the British government on opening a direct air route between Erbil and London in order to expand relations between the two sides .
A statement of KRG , reported for " Shafaq News " , that “ the head of KRG , Nechirvan Barzani and his accompanying delegation had held on the last day of the official visit to the United Kingdom , on Tuesday evening , a meeting with British Transport Secretary , Robert Kwodwyl .
The statement added that the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between Kurdistan Region and Britain, and ways of enhancing them in various fields , especially in transport and communications field, noting that the two sides confirmed the importance of launching a direct air route between London and Erbil that would play an active role in the expansion of cultural and social relations .
The statement said that the meeting highlighted the mechanism of preparations for opening this line and start direct flights between Erbil London .
The statement noted that Barzani welcomed this idea , and renewed at the same time his willingness to support the idea of cooperation and provide all forms of facilities for launching this line .
