Kurdish Attorney General Calls Gorran Leader to Appear in Court

He is charged with planning plots to attack consulates and foreign representativew offices in Kurdistan

The Attorney General in Kurdistan Region has called on the leader of Gorran (Change Movement) to appear in court on charges of allegedly plotting attacks against consulates and foreign representation offices.

Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) media outlets previously released video and audio recordings as evidences to claim that Gorran’s General-Coordinator Nawshirwan Mustafa speaks about a plot to attack consulates and foreign representation offices in Kurdistan Region by mob attacks.

The head of the Court of Cassation in Erbil confirmed the report on Wednesday and told Kurdistan24 that Mustafa has already been called to appear in court and clarify the charges.

However, Mustafa is yet to appear in court, and officials from Gorran told BasNews that he will personally decide on the case. Whether he goes or not, says an official, we believe that the audio recordings are crafted with technology.

Speaking to BasNews, Gorran officials accused the Kurdish judicial authorities of being affiliated with political parties, and that this is an unlawful order made as an attempt to atack their leader.

He is the leader of the Change but he himself has not been changed. One thinks that 'Change' means to change for better things. But this 'change' seems to mean the opposite way. Because this 'Change' so far has managed to change something successfully. This Change has changed S. Kurdistan political stability to instability. Well-done Change.

I have been watching this party for a few years and even had several friends who joined them - though not for very long

Several of my friends and I, had great hopes for the party but as we all know only change has been a change for the worst

I think Talabani were wrong to unite with Gorran and do not understand why they would become involved with a party whose behaviour they themselves been against for some time

Gorran will make use of the Talabani to gain greater power, because that is all the party and their vile leader really want

I am aware that several of the government advisers are in the pay of foreign powers and strongly suspect that Gorran are also in the pay of those same powers X(
