That makes no sense what so ever...

The reason that Nelson Mandela has a nobel peace prize was because their movement in South Africa was successful. The Apartheid government was brought down and the African National Congress came to power in a new South Africa. They were successful in bringing down what was then one of the most oppressive governments in the world through mass action from the people.

Ocalan and the PKK, on the other hand, had their movement drowned out in blood from a superior military force that was supported by virtually every country in the world, most importantly the US and other European countries. They could not escape the stigma of being branded as terrorists by the western media, or media in general. Look up any country's press and they'll always make a mention of how the PKK is a terrorist group as recognized by the US, EU, etc etc.

This is not to say that there was some preferential treatment for the ANC. Look at history, and anytime the ANC, especially their military wing MK came up in attacks against the government, it was always unfavorable depiction of a thuggish terrorist group that intimidated people and resorted to violence. The United States always supported the regime in South Africa when it intervened in Namibia (Southwest Africa as they referred to it as) and even invading Angola to chase after ANC. US politicos were of the opinion the ANC was nothing more than a soviet proxy to destablize South Africa, and indeed the apartheid government decided to arm itself with nuclear weapons specifically in the event of a mass insurrection of the native population and surrounding countries against it. A lot of the same comments the South African government made justifying their response towards the ANC is similar to what the Turkish state spews now.

Had the ANC failed and no change every came about, then Mandela would have still been in jail and the Apartheid government would still be there, maybe with some cosmetic changes like the Turkish one did. Only real difference is that the ANC succeeded, and the PKK has yet to make a significant achievement. For what it's worth Nelson Mandela in the past refused the "Ataturk Peace Prize" from Turkey, citing the Kurdish issue as a reason not to. He only took it up later when it seemed some progress was being made. Another figure there, Bishop Tutu, made comments several comments about the lack of response of the international community to the plight of Kurds,
