I do not think that Obama should have commented on the incident

There had been many break-ins by black people in that neighbourhood

George Zimmerman was there legally as security and had already called the police

Trayvon Martin may well have been acting suspiciously - he did not stop - he was not fired at from a distance - Zimmerman was trying to hold him for the police

George Zimmerman did not set out to cold bloodiedly shot Martin - there was a fight - Zimmerman was injured

Colour or race should not have been mentioned - Zimmerman is Hispanic not white

If both people had been white and the security guard had been injured by the suspect prior to the shooting - the security guard would not have even been charged

Obama's speech is very moderate. He does not criticize the judgement which seems fair according to Florida laws (no witness and one dead, who knows the truth ? Only the murderer) but he tries to explain how things are going between Afro-Americans in American society, the past, the present and what for the future ? He does not deny that Afro American young men are strongly represented among criminals but he explains also how any ordinary Black man faces fear and defiance from other people. He is in his own role to appease tensions and clarify things.

If his intention was to calm things down - he should have also spoken about the Hispanic community who very badly treated by white Americans

Obama has taken the side of the black population - this is very wrong

George Zimmerman was placed in a position where he shot and killed another man - many people never get over having killed another person - it will affect the rest of his life and probably have repercussions on his entire family
