Who is behind the "Help Kobani" website ???

The so-called "Kobane Reconstrcting Board" is a suspect group run from Germany

Will any of the money raised actually reach Kobani?

Sadly the answer is doubtfull

This is my personal opinion and not nessarly the opinion of the forum management

Were it to have been run from Kurdistan I would have much more faith

Far too many groups are taking advantage of the misery and suffering of Kobani's Kurdish population

Any group that focuses on the suffering and is quick to include their bank account before they actually give any information about themselves has to be suspicious

If anyone knows of any group/organisation set up by the Kurdish people LIVING IN KOBANI and actively involved in the reconstruction and rebuilding of Kobani we at Roj Bash Kurdistan would LOVE to hear about them

The people of Kobani are not uneducated idiots and are capable of running their own fundraising

Many of Kobani's inhabitants are intelligent professional/business people - they know what they need and they should be at the centre of any and all fundraising

Let us find and support the people in Kobani NOT outside organisations

ONLY the people in Kobani know what they need

Sadly it is true, Many scammers, from high profile financial boys to those known as Nigerian Scammers, will take advantages of the situation. During the exodus of Kurds after 1991 uprising, a high profile British personality organised a charity party to help Kurd refugees. It was claimed he raised over £20millions but nothing reached Kurd refugees. The man was a member of British hierarchy socially and officially. Because of that Kurds didn't dare to say anything.
