Singer suggests Isil fighters 'are not going to want to cut somebody's head off' while listening to reggae

Musician Shaggy has suggested that Islamic State (Isil) fighters could be turned off violence if they listened to his music.
Shaggy, who is known for his 90s hits Boombastic and It Wasn't Me, said Isil fighters "are not going to want to cut somebody's head off" if they sat down and listened to some reggae.
Speaking to the Miami New Times, he said Isil were "horrible" and "crazy" but could be rehabilitated through music.
“If you’re able to cut a man’s head off, you’re sick,” he said.
“But right, music evokes emotion. So if they’re listening to Shaggy music or reggae music, they’re not going to want to cut somebody’s head off.”
He goes further, suggesting that a combination of his music and cannabis could end terrorism entirely.
“There’s two things you want to do when you listen to reggae: You get somebody pregnant, or you’re ******* high,” he explains. “High people don’t want to kill nothing; they want to love. They need to bag some Jamaican weed and distribute it among Isis.
“I guarantee there won’t be any more wars out there.”
While his ideas might seem outlandish, Shaggy - whose real name is Orville Richard Burell - does have military experience. A former US Marine Corps field artillery cannon crewman, he served in the Gulf War.
