'Political correctness' allowing Islamist extremism to flourish in British prisons

Political correctness in prisons is allowing extremism to flourish because guards are too afraid of confronting Muslims, a report has found.

A review into Islamist extremism in the British justice system has found that “cultural sensitivity” towards Muslim prisoners is preventing staff “challenging unacceptable extremist behaviour and views”.

The report, by Ian Acheson, a former prison governor, warns that supervising staff are being “pressured” to leave prayer rooms during collective worship.

Islamist prisoners are also attempting to prevent searches by “claiming dress is religious” and are also getting access to extremist literature that is available in chaplaincy libraries or from individual prisoners.

Mr Acheson’s report concluded that extremists are “exploiting…staff fear of being labelled racist”.

It also warned that “charismatic Islamist extremist prisoners [are] acting as self-styled ‘emirs’ and exerting a controlling and radicalising influence of the wider Muslim prison population”.

The Government has said that it will implement a number of the report’s recommendations.

Liz Truss, the Justice Secretary, has already announced that the most dangerous extremists will be locked up in isolated high-security prisons within prisons to prevent them from radicalising other inmates.

On Monday, she will also announce that governors and prison officers will be given new training to “prevent influential extremist prisoners exerting control and radicalising others”.

I loath Political Correctness

Political correctness is not just in the prisons - it is everywhere

Political correctness prevented action being taken against the many ISIS supporters and Islamic extremists spreading their rubbish on the streets of UK

Political correctness divides the indigenous white and black populations from the newer ethnic groups

The black population and the more established Muslims communities of the UK feel overpowered by the recent influx of Muslim refugees but like everyone else in the UK they feel powerless to say or do anything due to the dreaded Political correctness

Political correctness means that the press is too frightened to have a point of view on almost anything involving ethnic minorities 8-|

Look at Anjem Choudary

For countless years he has been supported by the British Tax Payer of whom I am one

Radical cleric Anjem Choudary guilty of inviting IS support

One of the UK's most notorious radical clerics has been convicted of inviting others to support the so-called Islamic State, it can now be reported.

Police said Anjem Choudary, 49, had stayed "just within the law" for years, but was arrested in 2014 after pledging allegiance to the militant group.

Many people tried for serious terror offences were influenced by his lectures and speeches, police said.

Choudary was convicted alongside confidant Mohammed Mizanur Rahman.

Counter-terrorism chiefs have spent almost 20 years trying to bring Choudary, a father of five, to trial, blaming him, and the proscribed organisations which he helped to run, for radicalising young men and women.

Both men were charged with one offence of inviting support for IS - which is contrary to section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000 - between 29 June 2014 and 6 March 2015.

The verdict on the two defendants was delivered on 28 July, but can only be reported now, following the conclusion of a separate trial at the Old Bailey of another group of men for a similar offence.

For about 20 YEARS while being supported by taxpayers he has been spreading his anti-white anti-British rhetoric on UK streets - in Mosques - in assorted Islamic meetings - on the ever increasingly large social media

He has been openly telling people to bring down the British government and destroy all white people - little if any of this has ever appeared in UK media

BUT

When other social media outlets have shown what he is doing - quoted him - posted footage of him - those groups have been called racist

I would estimate that 90% of West Indian, Indian and Pakistanis and their descendants living in the UK, are extremely unhappy about the flood of new arrivals - the increase in radicalism within the Mosques - the increasing introduction of Sharia Law

Well established Muslim communities are becoming increasingly upset and FRIGHTENED as they have never in their lives come across such radicals who attack them and accuse them of not being true Muslims

In UK free speech is only available to non-indigenous people

Extremists to be put in special prison units

Extremist prisoners who "seek to poison the minds of others" will be put in special units in English and Welsh jails, the government has said.

Justice Secretary Liz Truss also set out plans for the removal of extremist books from prison libraries and stronger vetting of prison chaplains.

But the Prison Reform Trust warned many jails had been hit by staff cuts.

It comes after a report found there was "complacency" at the "growing problem" of Islamist extremism in jails.

The review into extremism in prisons, led by former prison governor Ian Acheson and published on Monday, found:

A "Muslim gang culture" and consequent violence, drug trafficking and criminality inspired or directed by these particular groups

Extremist prisoners advocating support for the so-called Islamic State, and threats against staff, other inmates and prison chaplains

"Charismatic" prisoners acting as self-styled "emirs" - a title sometimes used for Muslim leaders or military commanders - exerting a radicalising influence

Aggressive encouragement of conversions to Islam, and attempts by extremist prisoners to engineer segregation by landing, wing, or prison

Islamist radicals trying to get prison staff to leave during Friday prayers, attempts to prevent staff searches by claiming dress is religious, and an exploitation of staff concerns that they may be labelled racist

Prisons in England and Wales were at present "very far from being effective" in tackling extremism in prisons, Mr Acheson said.

In response to the report, Ms Truss said the prison system "cannot continue" to allow some inmates to "peddle poisonous ideology across the mainstream prison population".

The government will implement eight of the report's 11 recommendations, including creating a "small number" of specialist units to separate the "most subversive extremists".

A similar "jail within a jail" system has been used in the Netherlands to tackle radicalisation.

Ms Truss accepted there was a "risk" extremists could become more influential when kept together, but said authorities must keep apart those who might collaborate together to create more problems.

The government will "take steps to remove extremist and offensive literature from prisons", and strengthen the vetting system for prison chaplains.

Inmates "behaving subversively or promoting beliefs that run counter to fundamental British values" will be removed from Friday prayers.

'Sinister side'

Jamal - not his real name - who spent four years in prison for fraud, told the BBC how young men like him were targeted through initially friendly approaches.

"There was no talk of religion involved, there was no talk of radicalisation involved. It was just a very warm conversation... and they want to share some experience and camaraderie to boost your spirits a bit and that's how it starts.

"And then... the rhetoric changes. And you start seeing the more sinister side."

Publication of the report comes a few days after it was revealed that radical cleric Anjem Choudary had been convicted of inviting others to support so-called Islamic State.

Fears have been voiced that Choudary, who is due to be sentenced in September, would be able to influence other inmates with his views.

But Daniel Sandford said that creating special units within prisons was not without risks.

When some IRA prisoners were concentrated in Whitemoor prison in the 1990s, they were viewed as having gained too much control in the high-security unit and managed to escape, he said.

'Hardest hit'

Former prison governor and now director of the Prison Reform Trust Peter Dawson said the special units could be effective if they were used as a short term measure with a focus on rehabilitating segregated inmates "to change the way they behave and think".

But he warned the strategy only dealt with "half of the problem", as the Acheson report raised serious concerns about radicalisation in lower-security prisons, which had been "hardest hit" by staff cuts in recent years.

Labour MP Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, welcomed the focus on prisons, saying they had been "spaces where extremism has permeated and radicalised inmates" for too long.

But the government must "be wary of creating a colony of jihadists", he added, calling for careful thought about who was placed in such units and for how long.

Zero hour contract

Political Correctness and Positive Discrimination have left many companies employing useless idiots just because they belong to an ethnic minority - then companies find it is almost impossible to rid themselves of idiots

As a former employer and business advisor I believe in employing the best person for the job - someone capable of being left to their own devices and using their own initiative

Also I look for team workers players - an Indian friend once told me that his success is mostly down to a friendly working environment - he often employs different ethnic minorities with limited English, he always makes sure that he employs at least 2 or 3 workers from the same country so that none of them feels isolated he also allowed them time off to attend college

Happy workers = equals better business = more profit @-)

If the job involves face to face contact and is in a predominately white area logic says employ someone white - if it is a predominately Jamaican area employ a Jamaican - this applies every location

Where finance is concerned I prefer to employ a Muslim as they really do tend to be more honest and trustworthy

If in a Jewish area OR in a type of business where Jews are recognised as experts in a certain field - employ Jews (my uncle and my cousins have trained and employed many Jews)

Many Indian/Pakistani businesses in white areas have improved their turnover by following my advice and replacing family point of contact workers with white workers ;)

I personally believe in employing people who actually know more than I do, so that my company can benefit from that knowledge and grow

Nobody would ever make me employ someone just because they are black X(

But nobody could ever call me racist because of my son :ymparty:

A zero-hour contract is a type of contract between an employer and a worker, where the employer is not obliged to provide any minimum working hours, while the worker is not obliged to accept any work offered. The employee may sign an agreement to be available for work as and when required, so that no particular number of hours or times of work are specified. Depending on jurisdiction and conditions of employment, a zero-hour contract may differ from casual work. They are often used in agriculture, hotels and catering, education, and healthcare sectors.

BRILLIANT

Now we have a chance to try before we buy (employ permanently)

Best thing that ever happened to employers in the UK :ymapplause:

Although many MPs may say the growth of Zero Hour contracts has nothing to do with anti-Political Correctness and anti-Positive Discrimination in the work force - I know differently :D

I had a haircut today :ymparty:

In the UK a hairdresser is the one person people divulge all their innermost thoughts to ;)

90% of white people in the UK would send ALL non-white people back to their country of origin - or their ancestors country of origin

According to my hairdresser - who does not know that I am Anglo-Indian - within past year or so, since the recent trouble in the Middle East became more widely known and the flood of non-white refugees into Europe - white people have become far more vocal about their dislike of non-white people entering the UK

I must tell what happened to me today after my trip to the hairdressers :D

There I was looking bright and cheerful - new Kipling handbag - I love Kipling bags because of their bright colours and gorillas - wearing matching shoes and big trendy sun glasses - bit of the WOW factor apart from my slightly large food storage unit (stomach) :))

In Sainsburys I saw a not very tidy looking black guy buying a large number of bottles of water - thinking he might not be English and realise that UK tap water is the best in the world - I pointed that out to him as we reached the checkout

We started talking and he told me he came from the US to visit a family member - we had a little laugh and joke - as he went through the checkout in front of me he paid cash and told the girl at the till to put his change towards my bill - it occurred to me that mine might well have been the only friendly face he had seen since coming to England - then he was gone and it left me feeling rather sad :(

Just felt I had to share :ymhug:

Very mean of someone to steal your lovely gorillas X(

I used to wear flip-flops but because of the dogs I need to protect my feet more

I now wear flossy canvas shoes and try to match the colours to the colours of my Kipling bags @-)

They are similar to karate shoes and are machine washable :D

Flossys might be a good idea for you to wear in the heat - they will protect your feet if you accidentally tread on something nasty :-?

There is a madness in the world when it comes to skin colour: 8-}

Good Morning America anchor Amy Robach apologizes after using term 'colored people' live on-air while discussing lack of diversity in Hollywood

Good Morning America' co-anchor Amy Robach apologized for saying 'colored people' on Monday's broadcast

She was taking about criticism for casting white actors 'in what one might assume should be a role reserved for colored people'

Comment sparked outrage online as people deemed it 'offensive'

After the broadcast, Robach said that meant to say 'people of color'

She called the incident 'a mistake' and 'not at all a reflection of how I feel'

A Good Morning America anchor has been forced to apologize after using the term 'colored people' during a live broadcast.

Amy Robach was discussing the lack of diversity in Hollywood when she made the racial slur on Monday's show.

She was referring to the casting of mixed race actress Zendaya being cast in the role of Mary Jane in the new Spiderman film - a role that has been played by white actresses in the past.

The co-anchor, who was substituting for Robin Roberts, noted recent criticism for casting white actors 'in what one might assume should be a role reserved for colored people.'

Ironic: Amy Robach was discussing the lack of diversity in Hollywood when she used the term 'colored people'

Robach was referring to the casting of mixed race actress Zendaya (pictured) being cast in the role of Mary Jane in the new Spiderman film

After the broadcast, Robach released a statement apologizing and explaining she had meant to say 'people of color.'

But the apology came too late for many viewers who were outraged at the co-anchor's racial slur.

Many branded it 'offensive,' while another tweeted that Robach 'gets a pass this time' but vowed to ditch 'GMA' for a rival morning program if it happened again.

Robach called the incident 'a mistake' and 'not at all a reflection of how I feel or speak in my everyday life.'

The Good Morning America is married to former Melrose Place star Andrew Shue, and they are raising their combined children - her two daughters, Annalise, nine, and Ava, 12, with ex-husband Tim McIntosh and Andrew's three sons from his former marriage to Jennifer Hageney, Nate, 19, Aiden, 17, and Wyatt, 12.

The words used to describe African-Americans have evolved over time, said Deborah E. McDowell, director of the University of Virginia's Carter G. Woodson Institute for African-American and African Studies.

She told of how words now deemed offensive, including negro, colored, Afro-American have been replaced by the current terms black, African-American and people of color.

Woodson said: 'We no longer use the term colored people, although once upon a time that was a term in use.'

The role of Mary Jane was played by Kirsten Dunst (left) in the original Spiderman trilogy starring Tobey Maguire (right)

'Now the preferred usage is people of color if you are speaking about people of color broadly.

'If you are referring specifically to African-Americans, people will frequently be specific and refer to us as African-Americans.'

Earlier this year, Hillary Clinton tried to distance herself from a 'racist' joke made by New York City mayor Bill de Blasio about 'C.P. time' in a joint skit at a charity event.

The mayor came under fire for the joke he made during the skit alongside Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the Inner Circle gala.

De Blasio endorsed Clinton in October - months after other prominent New York Democrats, including Governor Andrew Cuomo.

She teased him about it during the New York City event, and he told her, 'Sorry Hillary, I was running on C.P. time.'

Clinton jumped in and said that means 'cautious politician' time.

'Massive ups and downs': Amy Robach, 42, has revealed that her battle with breast cancer nearly destroyed her marriage to former Melrose Place star Andrew Shue, 48; the couple was pictured September 24

'C.P. time' is actually short for 'colored people' time. As video of the incident made the rounds on Monday, de Blasio was hit 'for making what some said was a 'racist' joke.

It implies the negative stereotype that African Americans are habitually late, lazy and unreliable.

Clinton defended her involvement saying: 'Well, look, it was Mayor de Blasio’s skit.

'He has addressed it, and I will really defer to him because it is something that he’s already talked about,' she told Cosmopolitan.

Anthea: In the UK Indians and Pakistanis refer to themselves as being 'coloured'
AND (this will make you laugh)
According to the BBC the word 'nigger' is acceptable if spelt 'nigga' and not 'nigger' =))

Older black people refer to the young blacks trouble makers as 'niggers'

Black youths often refer to each other as 'niggas'

Light skinned black girls in UK do not like 'black niggers/niggas'

How would one describe colour prejudice to someone who is totally blind?

In 19th, the French term 'gens de couleur' was originally black or mixed (most of them born) living in West Indian colonies, who were not slaves.

Later, it called in common language it progressively named people born French citizens or from colonies with African origin, or from Caribbean, Madagascar, Indochina, La Réunion, etc.

Now it is totally outdated. Gens de couleur is really a "Vieille France coloniale" memory.

Worldwide concern grows over 'too many immigrants'

Half of Britons questions said there were 'too many immigrants' in the UK
But this level was down from 71 per cent five years ago, Ipsos poll reveals
In France, 60% said immigration has had a 'negative impact', study found

Anthea: Perhaps they included immigrants in their poll - but the more likely reason only half of Britons said there were too many immigrants in the UK is pure down to fear -because of the increase in Political Correctness people really are afraid to say what they think (especially to people they do not know) for fear of being deemed racist X(

Worldwide concern is growing over immigration levels which are higher than any time since the Second World War - but the British are less worried than they were five years ago, according to a survey.

Almost half of the British questioned in the Ipsos poll felt there were too many immigrants in the country - but this level was down from 71 per cent five years ago.

In France and Belgium, which have recently suffered deadly jihadist attacks, at least six out of 10 people believe immigration has had a 'negative impact', said the polling institute.

Similar figures were found in Russia, Hungary and also Italy, which has had to deal with large numbers of migrants fleeing the Middle East or Africa and seeking to forge new lives in Europe.

In all, 49 per cent of those surveyed in 22 countries said there were 'too many immigrants' and 46 per cent felt 'immigration is causing their country to change in ways they don't like,' Ipsos said in a statement.

The Japanese were least likely to say there are too many immigrants in their country (only 12 per cent), and the Brazilians least likely to voice discomfort at how immigration is changing their country (23 per cent), according to the study.

The surveyors pointed to a rise in the number of British people who think that immigration has been good for the country, standing at 35 per cent, sharply up on the 19 per cent recorded in 2011.

Britain has in fact become more positive about many aspects of immigration. This might seem surprising given that the desire to reduce immigration was undoubtedly a key reason for the Brexit vote,' Ipsos spokesman Bobby Duffy said.

Duffy added however that the referendum decision to leave the EU 'has polarised opinion'.

Yves Bardon, an Ipsos director in France, said that images of migrants and refugees arriving on Europe's shores 'have heightened the fear of uncontrollable migration throughout most of Europe, with the key issue being their ability to integrate'.

Six out of 10 people questioned for the survey said they were concerned about terrorists pretending to be refugees, and four in 10 want to close their nation's borders entirely.

The study was carried out in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Britain, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United States from June 24-July 8, with a total of 16,040 people questioned.

The paradoxe is that terrorism, in France is mainly French citizens' action : their grand-fathers were migrant but not themselves. France is one of the less welcoming country concerning migrants.

And because of 3 mayors, now we are considered as an 'anti-islam' country (and that is true), so I wonder if migrants will wish to come there.
