Plato a "white colonialist" philosopher

The most ridiculous thing I read to start 2017 :

University students demand philosophers such as Plato and Kant are removed from syllabus because they are white

They are said to be the founding fathers of Western philosophy, whose ideas underpin civilised society.

But students at a prestigious London university are demanding that figures such as Plato, Descartes and Immanuel Kant should be largely dropped from the curriculum because they are white.

The student union at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) insists that when studying philosophy “the majority of philosophers on our courses” should be from Africa and Asia.

These ignorant assholes are not aware, obviously, that Plato, with Aristotle and Plotinus was among the founding fathers of Islamic Philosophy. 8-|

So if they want to study and understand Farabi, Avicenna, Averroes, Sohrawardi, Mullah Sadra, etc. they can't do it without a solid knowledge of Greek Philosophy.

Even Ehmedê Xanî was a follower of Plato and Plotinus :D

A) The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) is NOT a prestigious university - it is full of loony left-wing idiots

B) The very fact that they do not know what they are talking about PROVES they are only capable of an extremely low standard of education

C) The only thing SOAS is good for is everything Kurdish - other than that the entire place should be shut down =))

When I was a teenager I loved reading Plato and others of his ilk - but by far my personal favorite is Confucius :ymhug:

One of my friends loved the Greek philosophers so much that he even learnt Ancient Greek to enable him to read the Greek philosophers from the original text :D

The article did not appear to mention removing Confucius - without whom there would be no such thing as philosophy - in fact around the time of Confucius there were a great many Chinese philosophers :ymhug:

Perhaps some want to class Mohammad as a philosopher X(

Or even the great Zulu chieftain Shaka :D

The questionnaire at the end of the article asks the public if they believe that philosophers such as Plato and Kant should be removed:

Out of 14752 voters (so far)
93% say NO
:ymparty:

I imagine how the greatest Muslim philosophers would like to come back on earth and kick the ass of such morons. Some of these Eastern thinkers risk their life and sometime lost it facing religious scholars to teach and write on Greek Philosophy.

There have also been some Kurdish philosophers - though you would know much more than I

Osman Sebrí was, in my valued opinion, a philosopher as well as being a teacher and a poet :ymapplause:

Ismet Chérif Vanly was also, in my valued opinion, a philosopher as well as being an intellectual giant :ymapplause:
