Akif Yildirim

With all the death and destruction in the world so many well loved people die and are forgotten

What made my friend Akif kill himself I have never really known

Akif Yildirim was a kind-hearted man who spent much of his time helping others

I had a meal with him about 3 days before he died and saw no sign of distress - he seemed to be his normal perky self

Anther close friend was with him 2 days before he took his life, this mutual friend - one whom Atif loved and respected and has the reputation of being able to sort out peoples' problems, the man everyone turns to for help and advice - also saw no problems or signs of sadness or depression

Gone But Not Forgotten

As the years passed, 19 years today, I have never forgotten Akif

The pain of his loss has subsided but the hole Akif left in my life has never been filled

For many years both Sahin and I wondered what we could have done to prevent the senseless death of our dear friend

Sahin suffered even more that I, especially as he looked on Akif as a younger brother

There were rumors that he was in debt but if that were the case, Sahin would have helped him

Was he depressed about a relationship?

I used to be friends with his long-term (many years) girlfriend and she knew of nothing
