"Balochistan" is the official name of the Balochi region of Pakistan. The term "Greater Balochistan" refers to the entire region inhabited by Balochi people - including "Balochistan" of Pakistan, south-western parts of Afghanistan and south-eastern parts of Iran, as shown in the map above!

They speak a North-Western Indo-Iranic language. Thus, it's closest relative is Kurdish language.

the flag has good colors but it would be better if the green was little darker.

I read somewhere they are pretty much an eastern branch of Kurds , since their language is very similar to one of the dialects of Kurdish , dont know which one.

I think it's close to Kurmancî - since that would be the logical answer as they were from Heleb and the area surrounding Heleb (Aleppo - Syria)...

Indeed their language is categorized as a North-Western Iranic language - which is what Kurdish is categorized as too...

Kurds are in Aleppo? I thought Deir ez Zor was Kurdish , when I went to the area (syria/lebanon) , I didnt encounter Kurds or maybe they were in the moutains . Well I know the syrian regime suppresses Kurds , so they are probably more Kurds then the 9% it says in their census.

There are Kurds in Aleppo yes, a LOT of them... BUT I was talking about the Baloch - that they are from that part of the world. They migrated to todays Balochestan from Heleb... That is the history which they themselves believe in - and which most scholars support... And if they are from that area - then yes their language would be closer to Kurmancî than any other Kurdish dialect...

Indeed the 9% official statistic is just the official Kurds - in e.g. those who have not been stripped of citizenship. There are 300 000 Kurds in Syria who have been stripped of citizenship... Count them in - and you'll have more than just 9% of the total population...

The balochies are as zazas and kurds northwest-iranian. They also have the same destiny as Kurds and Zazas. The persian and paki imperialists have accept their land. FOR THE FREEDOME FOR BALOCHISTAN!!!

Historically Balouchs have been brutally opressed by Iranis. Today Balouchistan is the poorest region of Iran. As a result, they strongly view Iranis as foreigners and occupiers. In recent years they have resumed their armed strugle and have killed many Irani armies.

Balochistan, nowdays it is divided into three countries, namely Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. The occupation and division of Balochistan begin in 1839, when English colonials attacked the capital Kalat and killed the Baloch king Mehrab Khan.
50% of it is occupied by Pakistan
40% is by Iran
and
10% percent by Afghanistan.
Baloch people speak two languages, which are Balochi and Brahui(also known as Kurdgali).
They practice Sunni Islam of Hanafi school, though some Balochs do practice their own version of Islam which is called Zikkerism they are called Zikkeri.

Could you please tell us more about the languages of the Baloch?

Like does "Kurdgali" - what does "gali" mean?

What is the current situation of the Baloch people? How is their struggle now in Iran and Pakistan and Afghanistan?

Do you have a federal state in Pakistan?

I ask a lot - I know...

Kurdgali, the second name for Brahui language of the Balochs. Gali means "a word or language-tongue" Gal means "words". But when Englishs occupied Balochistan they tried to divide Baloch people on language bases..Balochi and Brahui. English wrote many propaganda books and said that Brahui is not a language it is a people altogather different from Balochs. So unfortuntly still European scholars qoute the same old books of English colonials in their researchs about Balochistan..
The struggle in pakistani-occupied Balochistan is going well but pakistanis are getting support militarly from Americans to use againts Al Qaeda but pakistanis are using it againts Baloch freedom fighters....
In Iran now Balochs had begin their struggle in the leadership of Abdul Malik Reki/reggi....

That is realy a pitty. And the matter is the same with Kurds - the West reads books written by Turkish, Persian and Arabic people... And only when Europeans go themselves to Kurdistan do they see reality. That can be seen in books such as "Kurdistan: Fortid, Folk og Fremtid" by Erling Folkevord (a Norwegian member of the Red Choice Alliance (political party) in Norway)...

Brahui is a Dravidian language isnt it been used to support the Indo Iranian invasions in the area ??? Do they look different from other Baluchis im curious.

All i can say is this that Dravadian theory is creation of english colonials, nothing more. Baloch is a nation and have two languages which are Balochi and Brahui. If you doubt me, come and see Balochistan by your self.
