Du'a khalil Aswad n Yezidis

PostAuthor: Myshka » Thu Aug 25, 2011 2:07 pm

i guess many of you knows this story if not : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoning_of_Du%27a_Khalil_Aswad
So,that girl was stoned by her relatives because she wanted to convert to islam n marry a muslim sunni.
Many people before thought that those bastards were muslims. But no they were yazidis..
So i was wondering..Do yazidis really have such strong taboos in their life and such traditions.. or those [pigs just were some retards which interpretated yazidism wrong?

Myshka Xan...

I'll share a brief opinion with you according my experience and some readings abt this subject...

Some years ago, I meet one of my best friends, Kurd and Ezidi, and as some people wrote, Ezidi is older than muslim or christianity, and according I've learning, as in all religions, we can find fanatic people or very close groups who didn´t want to open the circle to others religions (I mean doesn't accept to get mixed with another religion cause they have considered themselves as pure blood)... and I can say, they are different like all another religions.

I Knew abt this girl, and... I guess, yes they were Yazidies, in a very close Ezidi community, but as I told you before one of my best friends is Ezidi and he couldn't kill a mosquito... hehehe

I hope not be offensive or rude or wrong on my words, if I was please let me know..

Regards,
Sus

I really hate these divisions amongst Kurds. I also know Ezidis, and their Kurds, they call themselves kurds nad say theres no difference bewtten a muslims kurd or yezidi kud.

This lack of national cohesion you are referring is not inherent to Yezidis. The Yezidi Kurds that do indeed view themselves as a separate people are mostly those living in Armenia, where they've been brainwashed by a malign propaganda machine. You'll see that the Yezidi's living in neighbouring Georgia(where Kurds have traditionally been treated with great hospitality) consider themselves Kurds first and foremost.
