No, unfortunately I have not been to what is known today as "West Azarbaijan" (which is rediculous because that region use to be a part of Kurdistan). I hear there is a lot of pre-Aryan history there though. Mannean, I think?

Either way, I'm sure it is beautiful because my cousin lives around Urmia and she sent me pictures. Btw I've never heard it be called Sablax...maybe the locals call it that? Mahabad is a very pretty name though. They probably have a great view of the moon from there :D

Indo European is the whole of the tree...

The branch of the tree which Kurdish belongs to is called Indo-Iranian...


And I speak Kurmancî... O:)

But Indo-aryan simply means Indic branch of Indo-Iranian languages!

Notice:


Indo-European:=> Indo-Iranian => Iranian => Kurdish/pashtun/Persian etc..

Indo-European: => Indo-Iranian => Indo-Aryan => Hindustani/Sindhi/ Bengali/Punjabi etc..

Some also suggest a third branch of Dardic:


Indo-European: => Indo-Iranian => Dardic.

But that is not accurate!

We have an Indo-Iranian which has two branchs: Iranian (or Iranic) + Indo-Aryan (or Aryan)

You can use the term Iranic instead. :wink:

BTW, what you said is not totally wrong, but is not mainstream.

Womanizer ----> Why do you insist that Kurdish is not related to other Aryan (Iranian) languages?

It's realy a bit meaningless to deny the truth when it's been a known fact for the last 2000 years...

is not Iranian branch at all, i will bring my reason.
There is no such thing as Iranian family or civilization and so on... this all happen during 20 century when new borders created and a lot related research and history has been monopolised based on existence states. i can bring billion reasons.. All this so called Iranian bunch crap and paranoia.
I will post in smoother terms in some other times.

I and others await your theory or "proof" as soon as possible...

But untill you prove 99% of the worlds educated proffessors and scholars and intellectuals - by refuting the term "Indo-Iranian" - I and others will keep calling it that...

So untill you prove "Indo-Iranian" wrong, it will remain so...

that is why it required 100 page to explain to you.which i dont have time now...
also there is no proves as such as iranian, becoaus eeveryone have copy one on another,...you need open yourmind look it in wider directions.
so as i said you can called what ever you like
we Kurds called Kurdish are branch of Indo-Europain languages, it stay there.
