Kurdish group captures key border town in northern Syria

PostAuthor: Aslan » Thu Nov 07, 2013 7:01 pm

The Turkish government has come under much scrutiny for its stance from many opposition groups who claim Turkey has been aiding the terrorist groups currently fighting in Syria. However, the Turkish government denies the allegations

This advance by the YPG comes as reports indicate Kurdish fighters have driven out Al-Qaeda linked groups from 19 different towns and villages in Syria's border areas. The Syrian Observatory for human rights claims that the Jihadists have now lost their remaining positions along the country side of Ras El Ein.

At the same time a hunger strike is still being carried out by the Mayor of the Turkish border town Nusbayin. The strike comes as the Turkish government has begun constructing a wall under the pretext of preventing cross-border smuggling's but the BDP says its real aim is to separate the PKK and the PYD. The Kurdish party see this as their government’s move to align itself with Al-Qaeda linked groups against the Kurds.
