I am fed up with people insulting Barzani - Masoud Barzani is a true Kurd - he was born in the Kurdish Republic of Mahabad - his entire life has been spent in the service of Kurdish people

At the age of 16, Masoud Barzani sacrificed his education and joined the Peshmerga forces, he was deeply influenced by valour, leadership skills and compassion of his late father Mustafa Barzani. Masoud Barzani’s experiences in the rugged mountains of Kurdistan were to provide him with the mettle and leadership skills that were to later propel him to the helm of the Kurdish movement.

It was not long before the KDP leadership began to notice the younger Barzani’s qualities. It came as no surprise when he, together with his late elder brother Idris Barzani took part in the delegation, which signed the now defunct autonomy deal with Baghdad in March 1970. When the Iraqi government reneged on its pledges once again, the Kurdish armed struggle resumed. Once again Masoud Barzani took part at the side of his father till the end of the movement in 1975. When ( KDP ) re-organised itself in 1976, Mustafa Barzani was in USA for medical treatment and his son Masoud Barzani accompanied his father. Towards the end of 1978, he survived an assassination attempt in Vienna while returning to Kurdistan. He assumed a leading position in the (KDP) with his brother Idris and other key figures.

Although Masoud Barzani did not have the opportunity to complete his education, his keen interest in reading, writing and studying political and military strategy has helped him abreast of international developments. ( In his words, he says, It is a great honour to serve my people and the ( KDP ). I hope to continue the policy and the works of its founder Mustafa Barzani for peace, liberty and democracy).

Stop trolling, nobody insulted him here. And he's not perfect, no one is, people make mistakes.

One thing I like about the PYD is that kill Islamists.
One thing I dislike a lot about them is their alliance with IRAN, SYRIA.

What to do :)

I do, I dislike many of their actions a lot. Right now watching news on Rudaw. According to them, today, there was a pro Assad demonstration in Qamshli. How can this be ? If true, it just confirms my fears that they are collaborating with Assad.

I hope and pray that they will play their cards wisely and exploit the regimes weakness as much as possible. They should not start being the regimes tools and start working with KRG, at least behind the scene.

"see the liberation of west kurdistan!!! You got liberated by PYD, good job, You liberated Kurdistan in a very short time.
For your knowledge, this is Qamishlo Bazar "

I hope you get the point, and understand my loose translation. The text is ironic, pointing out the silence of PYD.

I wounder what happened to the patriots behind the 2004 up rising in Qamishlo??? Maybe they are all in camps in S.K???

The more I read the more CONFUSED I become :-o

Facts as I understand them:

The largest Kurdish population of Kurds is in Turkish occupied Kurdistan

Ocalan as head of the PKK openly stated that he does not want a separate Kurdish state inside Turkey

The PYD purport to represent Kurds in Syrian occupied Kurdistan - though they appear to be doing so with very little involvement of other Kurdish groups within the region

When the Kurds of Syrian occupied Kurdistan gain independence - surely that will go against the wishes of Ocalan

Will not the independence of Western Kurdistan promote further unrest and a renewed desire for independence among the vast number of Kurds living in Turkish occupied Kurdistan

How could the PYD be connected to - and following the ideology of Ocalan and the PKK - with such catastrophic contradictions

What a shame and as a kurd I'm ashamed of PYD .
To understand the gravity of the situation just Imagine a Pro Saddam pro Baath demonstration by kurds in Hewler or a Pro Nazi demonstration by Jews in Jerusalem .

I think it was a turkish MP who said that " Ocalan did for Turkey what we could not have never done in a 1000 years" referring to his cooperation in dismantling PKK .

While PYD/PKK talk about kurdistan , reality is that they do not give a damn about Kurdistan and they are just tools in the hand of Syrian , Iraqi , Iranian regimes and that is why they are kicking out everyone except those who agree with them . Western Kurdistan is a hostage to their agenda and the so called kurdish revolution is nothing more than a mask meant to fool the public .

Barzani is right in not endorsing autonomy in western kurdistan , because it is not Kurdish autonomy , it is PKK autonomy .
