Today, December 17, 2013, Flag Day was celebrated in Kurdistan Region. In Sulaimani, the ceremony started with flying the Kurdish Flag in all the schools in Sulaimani and singing the Kurdish national anthem.
All the students, today, and government personnel wore Kurdish traditional clothes during studying and working sessions. For this reason, a ceremony was held at Bnar High School in Goizha Quarter. Present in the ceremony at Bnar High School were Sulaimani Governor, Bahroz Mohammed Salih, and Chief of Directorate of Education in Sulaimani.
On another side, the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has also celebrated Flag Day at the Political Bureau Headquarters Office in Sulaimani. Present in the ceremony were Mulla Bakhtyar and Umer Fatah, Head and Member of the Executive Body of PUK, respectively, as well as some others of PUK cadres and members.
KRG`s parliament, today, also published a photo featuring the Kurdish flag in the different eras of the Kurdish governments, emirates, and kingdoms. Flag Day is assigned by KRG`s parliament on the 17th of December, and every year on this day, various activities and celebrations are held regarding the day.
