Speaking to Kurdish Hawlati independent daily Jaffar Emniki said Massoud Barzani’s ‘unexpected decision’ refers to the introduction of the Iraqi constitution that says it is on the people of the region to decide to be a part of Iraq or leave the country.
“If the problems continue with Baghdad, it is up to the Kurdish people to chose their destiny and whether to remain part of Iraq or not,” Emniki told Hawlati newspaper.
Barzani is willing to see the region as a part of Iraq but if the laws are breached then what the Kurds would achieve.
Barzani warned Baghdad two days ago to make “unexpected decisions” if the central government continues making tensions with the self-ruling enclave.
Barzani said that the Kurdish people will not alter anything for their freedom, stressing that if the Iraqi government continues in its approach against Kurdistan region then it will havewww.Ekurd.net "unexpected position". Barzani 's statements came during his speech at the burial of 93 Barzani tribe Anfal victims.
