Muslims battle with Kurds and Yazidis protesting against ISIS in Germany

HAMBURG, Germany – Hundreds of Kurds in were demonstrating at the Al-Nour mosque against the Islamic State (ISIS) when “400 Muslims who police said were probably Salafists” confronted them, leading to a street battle. Fourteen people were injured and there were twenty-two arrests. The Kurds, many of whom are Christian, have been targeted along with the Yazidi people, who are also Christian. The mosque related to the Salifists in Germany adhere to “strict interpretation of Islam backed and funded by the Saudi regime,” as reported at the Daily Mail.

About eight hundred people in all, according to The Local, “brought metal bars, machetes and sharp objects to the fight and police decided to deploy water cannons after midnight to separate them.”

In an entirely unrelated “mass brawl” on the same night in Germany, close to 100 people “were involved in a fight between Yazidi Kurds and Muslims.” Breitbart reported that the Muslims in the other battle, were “mostly Chechen Muslims.”

In a statement (translated from German), the Al-Nour mosque insisted:

Everyone agrees that there are no disputes between Muslims and Kurds in Hamburg.

In Turkey, albawaba.com reported that “at least nine Kurdish demonstrators were killed by police…as demonstrations against the government’s failure to help Syrian Kurds fighting Isis just across the border turned violent.” According to the report, “Some protesters shouted ‘Murderer ISIS!’ and accused Turkey’s government of collaborating with the Islamic militants.” The report details other demonstrations across Europe.
