Syrian Kurdish PYD need to be represented at Geneva talks, says Russia's Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov again insisted on Thursday that the Syrian Kurds should be invited to the peace talks at Geneva.

It is important, Lavrov said, to have "a stable and direct character of intra-Syrian dialogue" which gives the negotiations "a truly representative character."

"In particular, we consider it absolutely necessary to invite the leadership of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party [PYD] to participate in the Geneva talks," Lavrov added according to Russia's Sputnik news.

The Russian Foreign Minister made the remarks at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

Turkey has been adamantly opposed to any participation by the PYD in Syrian talks arguing that it is closely linked with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and should consequently be excluded from both the Geneva talks and the ceasefire in Syria like Jabhat al-Nusra and Islamic State (ISIS) have been.

The PYD, and the Peoples Protection Units (YPG), have, however, proven to be a valuable asset for the US in Syria in its ongoing war against ISIS.

I, strongly believe, that in order to hold effective peace talks, representatives of ALL the main warring factions need to be included.

It is time to face facts.

If only one side in a conflict is taking part in any form of peace talks, there can only be two outcomes:

Total surrender of those taking part in the talks.

or

Near total annihilation of the opposition.

Neither option is expectable to me and any other right thinking person.

Neither is a viable solution, which is why the so-called peace talks have not be able to progress after all these years.

The time has come to STOP the fighting.

STOP weapons from reaching ALL the many and various warring factions in Syria.

STOP THE BOMBING OF INNOCENT PEOPLE

ISIS supporters are NOT standing in the middle of streets waving flags shouting here I am X(

Granted, there will probably be groups of them in and around military areas.

Many of them will be dispersed throughout highly populated areas.

Unless someone has invented a mini bomb which attacks only men with little brains and big beards:

MANY MORE INNOCENT PEOPLE WILL DIE
