The weight of Eu in International trade : 20% (while EU is only 7% of population in the world), and 2/3 of these exchanges are inside EU.

The weight of USA in international trade is around 16 %, and China 12%.

Concerning exports, EU has the 1st place, with more than 15% (for all the world), China around 14% and USA around 11%.

So we present always China as exportation invaders but in fact EU spreads all its products in the world :-D

Now with the BREXIT, we have to see how these estimations could change (I don't know the UK part in these EU trade).

Many Brexiteers have realised their mistake. Many contacted officials to change their vote and some voted in protest thinking it would not make difference because BRemain would win. This includes HRH MP Boris Johnson. On the Friday morning after the outcome of the referendum UK Trump, sorry I mean Nigel Farage, was the only jubilant one. His mouth was open as wide as a dark cave. But HRH MP Boris Johnson came out very late to speak. When he came out, I didn't see a shred of happiness on his face. When he spoke, he was trying a sort of damage control exercise. Yesterday he didn't came to Parliament to participate in Brexit debate. We have to bear in mind because of his good job while he was London Mayor, and because of his personality he has become a cult. Because of that a lot of people when voted Brexit, were voting for him, not for Brexit. On BBC debate on the last day of campaign, he was cheered like a celebrity like Elton Johnes.

The more Cameron and Johnson try to slow the Brexit process, the more it irritates the 27 EU members, that's not a good tactic. Only Angela Merkel tries to pacify the debate, but she could be the only one.

WE WON - WE ARE FREE

We can make our own laws - laws that are for the benefit of the UK

The EU bureaucratic bullying that has crushed us for so many years can no longer control us

They have tried to control UK by bullying the people - frightening the people - intimidating the people - manipulating the money markets

We are NOT cogs in a machine :D

Now they try to intimidate us =))

They think the general public is stupid - we have to become more streetwise to understand exactly what is happening

People called Saddam a dictator - yet those same people seem totally unaware that the EU has become a dictatorship - enforcing their laws on an unknowing and un-consenting UK population

Originally it was a free trade zone called the common market - nothing to do with political oppression and manipulation

When our than PM Ted Heath took us in - we were told it was just a free trade area and it will be good for jobs - that is basically all we were told at the time of joining

Once we had joined we were doomed - UK power was slowly eroded and EU becoming evermore powerful - now it is a fully fledged bureaucratic dictatorship with very little in the way of democracy

Over 50% of laws in UK come straight from a committee of unelected EU bureaucrats into UK law without our elected MPs having any say in them - we have been dictated to

LOL, how many people EU killed ? :lol:

It is such a dictatorship that a referendum could have been held to decide the Brexit. See if Kurds could decide by referendum to leave Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Iraq under Saddam.

EU was built by organizing 41 referendums in 44 years. Eastern European countries beg to be incorporated, even Southern American countries hope to. EU seems very attractive for a dictatorship.

And now UK leaders want to leave EU but try to keep the advantages of a EU member, while the 27 want to conclude.

Even Angela Merkel is annoyed now, and states : " Britain "cannot expect to have no more obligations but keep privileges" of EU ties. (AP).

But the funniest "réplique" came from Guy Verhofstadt (President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) to Nigel Farage (UKIP leader but also Eu MP) : "Let's look on the bright side. Finally we're getting rid of the biggest waste of the EU budget: your salary"

Touché coulé ! :D

In any case, EU seems impatient to get rid of 'oppressed UK ' but UK leaders seems not in a such hurry, now …

As Scotland, they coud decide by referendum to be independent and to stay or not in the EU dictatorship.

The fact is no EU member now try to prevent the Article 50, but UK politicians.

Again I stress this:

Originally it was a free trade zone called the common market - nothing to do with political oppression and manipulation

They gradually sneaked in more and more rules until the EU has made more laws affecting the UK, than our elected parliament does

LOL, how many people EU killed ?

This is the side many people know little or nothing about X( Many smaller countries and economies suffer because they are not included in, or rather cannot afford to pay to be included in the financial trade agreements - I cannot remember details but this was something that I found rather disturbing while I studied world economics years ago

There was a time when I actually had a proper list of which countries produces the best quality in different things - long since lost - but it was an amazing list

I strongly believe that all countries should be allowed to trade freely with each other - it should not be down to which countries we could bribe, or who could bribe us the most X(

Similarly, I believe that companies should be allowed to employ the best suited and best qualified person for a job - I would not expect a company to employ me because I offer the best bribe

Korea has the best horror films - Kurdistan the best pomegranates - Russia has the best singers and fastest growing technology - UK the best and widest varieties of apples - America has the worst soap operas - Germany universities produce the best inventions - France has the tastiest food - Italy has the healthiest food - New Zealand produces the best quality lamb - St Vincent has the best arrowroot - English Universities produce the best research into medical advancement - Sweden and Denmark produce the best TV series and the best actors - Canada has the sexist president :ymdevil:

JML (sells lots of household inventions) is not based in EU and sells to a large number countries worldwide - including more that 60 countries the UK is forbidden to trade with because of EU restrictions X(

As I mentioned previously - UK urgently needs doctors and nurses but we are NOT ALLOWED to requite from most countries outside the EU

Don't worry, EU has no intention to prevent the BREXIT. At the contrary, they incite strongly UK to go OUT quickly :D Why Cameron and Johnson are suddenly not happy to leave, that's a mystery. :-?

Texts adopted
Tuesday, 28 June 2016 - Brussels Provisional edition
Outcome of the referendum in the United Kingdom

The European Parliament,

– having regard to Rule 123(2) of its Rules of Procedure,

1. Takes note of the wish of the citizens of the United Kingdom to leave the EU; points out that the will expressed by the people must be entirely and fully respected, starting with the activation of Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU) as soon as possible;

2. Stresses that this is a critical moment for the EU: the interests and expectations of the Union’s citizens must be brought back to the centre of the debate; the European project must be relaunched now;

3. Stresses that the will of the majority of the citizens of the United Kingdom should be respected via a swift and coherent implementation of the withdrawal procedure;

4. Points out that negotiations under Article 50 TEU concerning the UK’s withdrawal from the EU must begin as soon as formal notification has been communicated;

5. Warns that in order to prevent damaging uncertainty for everyone and to protect the Union’s integrity, the notification stipulated in Article 50 TEU must take place as soon as possible; expects the UK Prime Minister to notify the outcome of the referendum to the European Council of 28-29 June 2016; this notification will launch the withdrawal procedure;

6. Recalls that the settlement agreed by the heads of state or government in February 2016 stipulated that it would only enter into force if the UK decided to stay in the EU; it is therefore null and void;

7. Recalls that any new relationship between the UK and the EU may not be agreed before the conclusion of the withdrawal agreement;

8. Recalls that the consent of the European Parliament is required under the Treaties, and that it must be fully involved at all stages of the various procedures concerning the withdrawal agreement and any future relationship;

9. Invites the Council to appoint the Commission as negotiator on Article 50 TEU;

10. Stresses that the current challenges require reflection on the future of the EU: there is a need to reform the Union and make it better and more democratic; notes that while some Member States may choose to integrate more slowly or to a lesser extent, the core of the EU must be reinforced and à la carte solutions should be avoided; considers that the need to promote our common values, provide stability, social justice, sustainability, growth and jobs, overcome persistent economic and social uncertainty, protect citizens and address the challenge of migration requires developing and democratising, in particular, the Economic and Monetary Union and the area of freedom, security and justice, as well as strengthening the common foreign and security policy; considers therefore that the reforms must result in a Union which delivers what citizens expect;

11. Calls for a roadmap for a better Union based on exploiting the Lisbon Treaty to the full, to be completed by a revision of the Treaties;

12. Will enact changes in its internal organisation to reflect the will of a majority of the citizens of the United Kingdom to withdraw from the European Union;

13. Takes note of the UK Commissioner’s resignation and the reallocation of his portfolio;

14. Calls on the Council to change the order of its Presidencies to prevent the process of withdrawal from jeopardising the management of the day-to-day business of the Union;

15. Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the European Council, the Council, the Commission, the European Central Bank, the national parliaments and the Government of the UK.

There is nothing dictatorship about EU. Each member has a proportional representation and each member has joined by the consent of their people.

This is a misuse of democracy. The basic idea of democracy is to move forward for a better life. This is not the case with Brexit. It is a self-destruction. Never mind about the economy. lets speak about security. The future of the union put in risk. Scots will leave, so will N Ireland after losing EU support. Wales will also follow them. Scots claim all N. Sea resources. So what we do about it? Are we going to declare war. Really Brexiteers don't know the damages they have inflicted on this country.

But there is a solution, which is for UK not to invoke article 50 for years. After that run another referendum.

Very interesting document - I noticed the part that said:

There is a need to reform the Union and make it better and more democratic

My parentage is not 100 British - neither was my ex-husband nor my adopted son

So I have a much wider interest in world affairs than most people :ymhug:

The EU's plan to incorporate the UK's armed forces into their single army, with the right to send our boys anywhere they want to, was the finale straw X(

If my remember rightly, years ago someone else had the idea to form a united Europe with a single currency and a single ruling body with a single army =))

But UK is a part of NATO, anyway. So until now they are sent to fight in any USA wars.

I guess that EU army will be more a defense force because many EU countries do not care of fighting abroad. But considering what happens with ISIS, they have to do.

Concerning the weight of Brussels bureaucracy, it could have been prevented in 2005, when a referendum could give more power to the Parliament of Strasburg : there EU MP (elected by people) are there to represent their own country. But unfortunately, a NO campaign won (the treay was technically so hard to understand that common people thought by saying no they could refuse Brussels bureaucracy while it was exactly the contrary).

I support a strong EU Parliament (Strasburg) and a single army and even a single political power. We have to elect a European leadership.
