Russian air superiority

Now in its second week, Ukraine's supposed counteroffensive is proving difficult due to extensive minefields and well-prepared defenses

Ukraine has claimed its forces were moving along in its counteroffensive but were battling to counter Russian air and artillery power, which was impeding their advances in the east and south.

The counteroffensive continues to be difficult due to extensive minefields and well-prepared defenses.

Following the mixed outcomes of Ukraine's initial probing strikes, its forces have generally suspended their advances in recent days while commanders assess the preceding two weeks and consider strategies to breach Russian lines without incurring heavy fatalities.

Russia has used its greater air power and Kiev's inadequate air defenses to target Ukrainian armored columns and halt many operations, destroying some of Ukraine's heavy Western weaponry.

The United Kingdom's Defense Ministry stated in its daily intelligence briefing on Saturday that Russia has increased the number of attack helicopters stationed in captured Berdyansk, around 60 miles south of the battle line in Ukraine.

The British Defense Ministry Tweeted: “In the constant contest between aviation measures and counter-measures, it is likely that Russia has gained a temporary advantage in southern Ukraine."

Ukrainian leaders have set an enthusiastic tone, claiming that their forces had advanced in a number of places while not yet posing a direct danger to Russia's major defensive lines.

Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Volodymyr Havrylov claimed Saturday that Ukraine was "seizing the initiative" and that "Russia is on the defensive."

Last month, the Ukrainian President acknowledged Bakhmut's defeat to the Russians, saying there was "nothing left" of the city.

On Friday, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar said, “Our forces are on the offensive in several areas, occupying dominant positions and forested areas with a view to gradually push the enemy out of the approaches into Bakhmut."

Ukraine has been hyping its counteroffensive attack, since last year. Although the attack was intended for spring, it was moved to the summer after Ukraine blamed the delay on a lack of weapons.

The West has been urged to deliver progressively heavier weapons, including tanks, drones, and fighter planes.

Over half of Ukrainian troops lost

Two attacks in the direction of Ravnopol were neutralized and an attempt to conduct reconnaissance by force in the Zaporizhzhia direction was thwarted

A Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson told Sputnik on Monday that more than half of the Ukrainian troops who have attempted to advance towards the south Donetsk direction as part of the Ukrainian-led counteroffensive were lost.

"In the south Donetsk direction, subunits of the Vostok group of forces, with the support of artillery and aviation, inflicted fire damage on the enemy, who is trying to conduct offensive operations. Motorized rifle units thwarted two enemy attacks in the Novodonetske area. A tank, armored fighting vehicles, and more than half of the advancing manpower were destroyed," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that two attacks in the direction of Ravnopol were neutralized and an attempt to conduct reconnaissance by force in the Zaporizhzhia direction was thwarted.

On another note, Acting Kherson Governor Vladimir Saldo told Sputnik that repair works to restore the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant (HPP) can only start once Ukrainian troops are pushed away to a distance deemed safe for work to be carried out. However, there are still no specific plans or projects drawn as of now.

"Of course, after achieving the goals of the special military operation, or even earlier, when we drive the enemy to a safe distance, we will begin to restore the Kakhovka HPP. There is no other way - the ecology and economy of the left bank of the Kherson region and northern Crimea are strongly tied to it. This is a fundamental issue. However, it is clear that specific plans and projects will be drawn up later," Saldo said.

The Kakhovka dam in the Dnipro River was blown on June 6, unleashing a flood of water across the war zone.

Russian news agencies said the dam, controlled by Russian forces, had been destroyed in shelling and a Russian official said it was a terrorist attack.

On June 7, the Russian-appointed Mayor of Nova-Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontyev, revealed that seven locals were reported to be missing after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.

Later, it was confirmed by media reports that six people died as a result of the damage.

A brief recap on Ukraine and similarities between people of the Donbass and Kurds

As were the Kurds torn from a divided Kurdistan at the end of the Ottoman Empire and left under control of oppressive governments

So were the Russian people of the Donbass removed from the security of Russia and left under control of oppressive Kiev government

As were the Kurds denied their language, education, customs, culture, music, books etc

So were the people of Donbass denied their language, education, customs, culture, music, books etc

As were the Kurds attacked and slaughtered by governments given control of their lands

So were the people of Donbass attacked and slaughtered by the Kiev government given control of their lands

Kurds (almost) had the Treaty of Sèvres that allocated them land but was never ratified

People of Donbass had the Minsk agreements (totally ignored) that granted them rights

As are the Kurds still being attacked by Syria, Turkey, Iran, Iraq (mostly political theft of Kurdish land), and facing obliteration on their lands

So are the people of Donbass still being attacked daily by Kiev neo Nazis and facing obliteration on their lands

Update on conflict:

In recent weeks the Spring assault on Donbass by Western backed Kiev failed with a massive loss of life, so other ways are being sought to bring Russia to it's knees

Certain nameless countries have been trying to cause conflict within Russian borders for many months

Who are the Wagner group?
    Paid mercenaries
Who is paying them to mutiny against Russia?
Probably the same countries who orchestrated the regime change in Pakistan and got Imram removed, the same people who caused riots in Iran in an attempted regime change
Ignore Western Propaganda and lies
We are seeking to bring you the TRUTH

Live from Moscow where riot police and the National Guard have been scrambled to tighten security at key facilities, including government agencies and transport infrastructure, according to the state news agency Tass.

The owner of the Wagner private military contractor Yevgeny Prigozhin said that his forces have driven into the Russian city of Rostov facing no resistance. Prigozhin escalated his direct challenge to the Kremlin on Friday, calling for an armed rebellion aimed at ousting Russia’s defense minister. The security services reacted immediately by opening a criminal investigation into Yevgeny Prigozhin and calling for his arrest.

Wagner head to move to Belarus

Fighters not to be prosecuted: Kremlin

Fighters who did not partake in the mutiny will sign contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry and those who did participate won't be prosecuted in recognition of their service.

The Kremlin has confirmed that Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin will move to Belarus as part of the deal brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who offered to mediate, to put an end to the armed mutiny that Prigozhin led against Russia's military leadership.

Furthermore, the criminal investigation against Prigozhin will be dropped, even though the Kremlin has announced that it does not know Prigozhin's whereabouts at the moment.

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to Lukashenko's offer since he had known Prigozhin personally for around 20 years and that Putin's word can be considered a guarantee for allowing Prigozhin to depart to Belarus.

"A criminal case [against Prigozhin] will be terminated and he will leave for Belarus. If you ask, what is the guarantee that Prigozhin could leave for Belarus, it is the word of the Russian president," Peskov told reporters.

After Peskov called today's events "tragic", he expressed the Kremlin's appreciation for Lukashenko's efforts, which resulted in avoiding further losses and averted internal confrontation.

"There was the highest goal of avoiding bloodshed, internal confrontation and clashes with unpredictable results. It is for these goals that Lukashenko's mediation efforts were made, and President Putin made a relevant decision on that," he told journalists, adding that the phone call between the two presidents was sincere and "very constructive".

Furthermore, according to the spokesperson, fighters who did not partake in the mutiny will sign contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry and vowed that those who did participate won't be prosecuted in recognition of their service.

The reason is that, according to Peskov, avoiding bloodshed was far more important than issuing punitive measures.

In another context, the Kremlin Spokesperson confirmed that the current developments will not in any way affect the special military operation in Ukraine as soldiers continue to repel the counteroffensive successfully.

"Under no circumstances. The special military operation in Ukraine continues, our soldiers at the frontline are demonstrating heroism, they are quite effectively and successfully countering the counteroffensive of Ukraine's armed forces. And the operation will continue," Peskov told journalists, answering the question of whether the events with the Wagner PMC would have an impact on Russia's operation in Ukraine.
Wagner evacuation ongoing, restrictions lifted

The regime of a counter-terrorist operation imposed in several regions of Russia will be lifted in the nearest future, he further added.

"The counter-terrorist operation [regime] will be lifted in the nearest future," Peskov said, adding that there would be every prerequisite for that.

Indeed, following his statement, authorities in the southern Russian region of Lipetsk started lifting restrictions after Wagner announced earlier it would fall back.

"We are beginning to lift restrictions introduced today," Governor Igor Artamonov said on Telegram.

Russia's military headquarters in the city of Rostov-on-Don in southern Russia has also been vacated as confirmed by the RIA news agency.

Earlier, Lukashenko's office mentioned in a statement that "in line with the agreements and as agreed with the Russian president, the Belarusian president held talks with the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, after additionally clarifying the situation via its own channels."

On his part, Prigozhin confirmed that PMC Wagner is turning its troop columns back and moving back to its field camps.

"Understanding all responsibility that Russian blood from one of the sides could be spilled, we are turning our columns back and moving to the opposite direction to field camps in accordance with plans," he announced in an audio statement released on his Telegram channel.

It would appear that the West's attempt to bring about a regime change in Russia has failed

I wonder what the US is up to :-?

In light of the attempted coup in Russia, the extra media coverage and the blocking of genuine news sites, one can only assume that the US and it's Western menials are setting up a smokescreen to hide some other devious wrong doings

Russia declares end of mutiny

After the attempted armed mutiny led by Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin yesterday, the governor of Rostov Province announces that Wagner convoys left the territory of the province

On his Telegram channel, Golubev wrote: "The Wagner PMC convoy left Rostov and headed to its field camps," adding "I am grateful to everyone who in these extraordinary conditions ensured the smooth operation of the life support systems in the Don capital and the entire Rostov region."

Multiple videos published on social media showed Wagner PMC members leaving their positions and driving their vehicles on their way out of the city.

Earlier, on Saturday, Golubev confirmed that the Rostov region supports Russian President Vladimir Putin in light of the attempted armed mutiny in the country, underlining that a catastrophe such as division cannot be allowed to happen again.

Alexander Gusev, the governor of Russia's Voronezh region, stressed that no circumstances can force Russians to doubt the soundness of the Russian President's approach, stressing that any attempt to overthrow the constitution will fail and will be eliminated.

The head of the Wagner Group private military company (PMC), Yevgeny Prigozhin, had accepted the proposal of Lukashenko to stop the movement of Wagner fighters in Russia and take further steps to de-escalate the situation, the Belarusian presidential office announced on Saturday.

That morning, Putin briefed his Belarusian counterpart on the situation in southern Russia around the Wagner PMC, with the two leaders agreeing on coordinated actions, Lukashenko's office mentioned in a statement.

"In line with the agreements and as agreed with the Russian president, the Belarusian president held talks with the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, after additionally clarifying the situation via its own channels," the statement read.

It continued, "As a result, agreements on the unacceptability of unleashing a bloody slaughter on the Russian territory were reached. Yevgeny Prigozhin has accepted the proposal of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to stop the movement of Wagner troops on the Russian territory and take further steps to de-escalate tensions."

On his part, Prigozhin confirmed that PMC Wagner is turning its troop columns back and moving back to its field camps.

Let us try to guess who is behind the mutiny of the Wagner group in Russia, below are a few guidelines

After World War II, the United States began using the newly established Central Intelligence Agency to overthrow governments all over the world

Prior to WW11 the U.S. frequently invaded Cuba and other Caribbean countries in the so-called “Banana Wars,” to help quash labor strikes and revolutions that threatened U.S.-owned sugar, fruit and coffee businesses

President John F. Kennedy attempted to overthrow Castro’s government in the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion. This failed coup not only represented America’s ongoing imperialist attitude toward its southern neighbors; it also showcased a newer interventionist arm: the CIA

After the United States established the CIA in 1947, it began to use the agency to overthrow or prop up foreign governments in a much more covert way. Before WWII, the United States didn’t try to hide its interventions in foreign governments. But with the onset of the Cold War, the United States became much more concerned about hiding its actions from the Soviet Union, Kinzer says

In 1953, the CIA orchestrated a coup of Iran’s democratically elected prime minister, Mohammad Mosaddegh, in order to consolidate power with Iran’s shah (or king), Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Declassified CIA documents claim the coup—known internally as Operation Ajax

In 1954, the CIA orchestrated another coup of a democratically elected leader: Guatemalan President Jacobo Árbenz. The CIA coup, code-named Operation PBSuccess, replaced the president with military dictator Carlos Castillo Armas

In 1960, the Republic of the Congo (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) declared its independence from Belgium and democratically elected its first prime minister, Patrice Lumumba. Shortly after he assumed power, President Joseph Kasavubu pushed him out of office

The Pentagon Papers, chock full of damning revelations about America’s war in Vietnam, caused a sensation when The New York Times published them in 1971. One revelation was that the CIA had funded and encouraged the 1963 coup against, and assassination of, the president of South Vietnam, Ngo Dinh Diem

When Chile elected socialist Salvador Allende as president in 1970, U.S. President Richard Nixon originally wanted to block him from taking office, or else mount a coup soon after Allende became president. On Nixon’s orders, the CIA began supporting different Chilean groups plotting to overthrow the new socialist president. In 1973, military leader Augusto Pinochet staged a coup that ousted Allende. Pinochet assumed his dictatorship the following year, ruling as Chile’s president until 1990

Between 1981 and 1986, President Ronald Reagan’s administration secretly and illegally sold arms to Iran in order to fund Contras, a group the CIA had recruited and organized to fight the socialist Sandinista government led by Daniel Ortega. In 1986, details of the Iran-Contra Affair became public, resulting in congressional investigations. Ortega’s Sandinista government ended in 1990 with the election of opposition candidate Violeta Chamorro as president amid reports that the United States had provided funding to help her win

When the United States invaded Afghanistan in 2001, it established an interim government led by Hamid Karzai to replace the warring Taliban government and the oppositional Northern Alliance. Karzai’s rule continued in 2002, when he became head of Afghanistan’s transitional government, and in 2004, when he became president of the U.S.-backed Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. He was succeeded in 2014 by Ashraf Ghani. Ghani was president until the Taliban retook power in 2021, when the U.S. formally ended its war in Afghanistan

In 2003, the United States invaded Iraq and overthrew Saddam Hussein’s government. As in Afghanistan, the U.S. attempted to establish an interim, transitional and more permanent government. The United States formally ended its war in Iraq in 2011. Since then, the country’s government structure has remained in flux

Let us not forget Iraq: The U.S. was hoping for a coup but instead, a series of uprisings erupted across Iraq right after the war. Two of the largest rebellions were led by the Iraqi Kurds in the North and the Shia militias in the south. The rebels assumed that they would be getting direct U.S. assistance, however United States never intended to give assistance to the rebels. The Shia uprisings were crushed by the Iraqi military while the Peshmerga were more successful, gaining the Iraqi Kurds autonomy. The Bush Administration faced heavy criticism for not assisting the rebels after encouraging them to rise up

In Libya a coalition of 27 states from Europe and the Middle East soon joined the NATO-led intervention, as Operation Unified Protector. The Gaddafi government collapsed in August, leaving the National Transitional Council as the de facto government, with UN recognition. Gaddafi was captured and killed in October by National Transitional Council forces and NATO action ceased

Obviously there have been many other US assisted regime changes and coups, especially noticeable being the illegal regime change in Ukraine that caused 9 years of attacks by the Kiev government against the innocent people of Donbass leading to the current problems in Ukraine

Pakistan where the much loved Imran Khan was illegally ousted from power

Is there anyone in the entire world who actually believes the US had absolutely nothing to do with the mutiny in Russia

THE TRUTH

Yes we have found probably the ONLY honest reporter :D

Go with the Russian Private military company Wagner as they leave Rostov after they spent a day controlling part of this Russian city.

Who Was With Wagner when leaving Rostov? The people of Rostov were with them. Prigozhin (the leader of Wagner) was with them and I was with them to show the world the facts on the ground that the Western main stream media will not.

I even was able to speak to Prigozhin about the day's events and got an exclusive comment.

My name is Patrick Lancaster and I think you deserve more then what the Western main stream media is willing to show you. I think you need to see information for both sides of the contact line.

Why does the Western mainstream media think the world does not deserve to see reports from both sides of the Ukraine War frontline? Why do they only show you(almost all the time) things that are positive for Ukraine?

Why when any English Speaking journalists try and show things in Russian-controlled territory they are attacked and attempted to be smeared by the Western MSM? Think about it!!

I believe You deserve MORE and I will make sure you continue to get it here on this channel!!

We can not cover every story from every place but we can do our best & of course, always bring you reports with full Eng & Rus translations.

I show what the western media will not show you.

RBK thanks Patrick Lancaster for the following video

Kiev wanted Russians to kill each other

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the "neo-Nazis in Kiev" and their Western backers desired the same end as the mutiny organizers

During an address from the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin rebuked the organizers of the recently unsuccessful mutiny by PMC Wagner Group personnel, claiming that they abandoned not only their country and people but also the men who were tricked into engaging in this "crime."

Putin said that the "neo-Nazis in Kiev," and their Western backers desired the same end as the mutiny organizers: an intra-Russian battle in which Russian soldiers would have been killing one another.

He emphasized that the mutiny's planners were fully aware that their uprising would have been put down and that their actions were ultimately intended to harm Russia.

"I emphasize that from the very beginning of the events, all necessary decisions were immediately taken to neutralize the threat that arose, to protect the constitutional order, the life, and security of our citizens," Putin said.

Putin also emphasized that most of the soldiers and leaders of the Wagner Group are "Russian patriots devoted to their people and state," who displayed their patriotism "with their courage on the battlefield, liberating Donbass and Novorossiya."

The President praised the members of the Wagner Group who refrained from crossing the "final line," and informed them that they could now either continue serving Russia by signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense or another law enforcement organization, or they could go back to their families at home. The president also said that anybody is free to relocate to Belarus.

Putin thanked all Russian servicemen, law enforcement officers, and special services' members who "stood in the way" of the mutineers and "remained faithful" to their duty during this crisis, as well as members of the Wagner Group who did not participate in the mutiny.

Alexander Lukashenko, president of Belarus, was also thanked by the Russian president for "his efforts and contribution to the peaceful resolution of the situation." However, Putin added that it was the "consolidation of the entire Russian society that played a decisive role" in resolving this crisis."

The chief of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner PMC was slammed with criminal charges for staging an armed mutiny in the Rostov region in southwest Russia on June 24.

Yevgeny Prigozhin announced on his Telegram channel storming the region and taking over the military headquarters in response to what he claims was a Russian attack on his troops earlier under the orders of the Defense Ministry.

Due to the developing events, Moscow canceled all public events as the PMC came just 6 hours away from the Russian capital amid continued advancements, while Russian security units stormed Wanger's headquarters in St. Petersburg.

Zelensky fires leaders

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fires the head of a state defense corporation in light of his failure to carry out certain duties in light of the ongoing war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took the decision Tuesday to sign an order to terminate the appointment of Yuriy Husyev as the Director General of state defense corporation Ukroboronprom.

The move comes in response to Husyev's alleged failure to carry out the missile program.

"Dismiss Yuriy Husyev from the post of Director General of the Ukroboronprom State Concern as requested," the order read.

The Ukrainian cabinet had approved German Smetanin as the new chief of Ukroboronprom due to Husyev's failure to carry out the missile program, Ukrainska Pravda online newspaper said.

The Ukrainian outlet said German Smetanin was approved as the successor to lead Ukroboronprom. Smetanin, who previously headed the state-owned Malyshev Factory in Kharkov, has been entrusted with three crucial tasks by President Zelensky.

These tasks include increasing the production of various weapon types, tackling corruption within the industry, and finalizing the reform of the military-industrial sector.

Simultaneously, the Ukrainian cabinet granted approval for the dismissal of seven heads of district administrations, including those in Kiev. The government's representative in the parliament, Taras Melnichuk, shared this information via Telegram on Tuesday, though he did not specify the reasons behind their dismissals.

The Ukrainian general prosecutor's office initiated earlier in June a criminal investigation following the tragic deaths of three individuals who were unable to access a bomb shelter during an air raid alert in Kiev.

Several Ukrainian officials have called for the resignation of Mayor Vitali Klitschko in the wake of the incident. To prevent similar occurrences, the government has begun inspecting all bomb shelters across Ukraine, with Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov warning that dismissals may ensue as a result.

Weapons to Ukraine in Africa

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari urges heads of states from neighboring states participating in the Lake Chad Basin Commission to confront the issue of Western arms smuggling from Ukraine

Weapons supplied to Ukraine from Western countries are "starting to flow" into the Lake Chad basin region, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari warned this week.

Addressing the heads of states from neighboring states participating in the Lake Chad Basin Commission on Tuesday in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, the president said, "Regrettably, the situation in the Sahel and the raging war in Ukraine serve as major sources of weapons and fighters that bolster the ranks of the terrorists in the region."

Buhari then urged his counterparts to increase security cooperation in order to confront the issue of arms smuggling.

The Nigerian president agreed to step up military coordination in their countries' war against Boko Haram and ISIS terrorists, who are now apparently receiving weapons from Ukraine, alongside the leaders of Benin, Chad, Niger, and the Central African Republic.

Last month, Finnish police said that some of the "huge quantities" of weapons being shipped to Ukraine had made their way to Finland, where "three of the world’s largest motorcycle gangs" now operate, including Bandidos MC, which "has a branch in every major city in Ukraine."

In August, an American news outlet unmasked that a shockingly large amount of weaponry heading for Ukraine was untraceable. "Like 30% of it reaches its final destination," said a tweet that was later deleted after a swarm of online trolls attacked it
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu had previously said the arms supplied by the West to Ukraine were ending up on the black market and spreading across West Asia.

Similarly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had pointed out that Stingers and Javelin missiles, supplied by the West to Kiev, were already being sold at a discount on the black market and have surfaced in Albania and Kosovo, which Russia has warned for so long.

Ukraine has received billions and billions of dollars in donated arms from the United States and its allies such as the United Kingdom and other NATO states in the past few months.

Robert Kennedy on CIA

US presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr criticizes all walks of life within the US, underlining his opposition to how it conducts its foreign policy

US Democratic Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. vehemently and extensively criticized the United States on Monday during a speech before the Free State Project, where he touched on numerous issues, from the war in Ukraine to bioweapons, US bases on foreign soil, and the cases of Julian Assange and Edward Snowden.

Operation Paperclip, the CIA's first project, aimed to bring Nazi scientists to the United States after World War II. These scientists were employed to work on developing missiles, nuclear weapons, and bioweapons at high-security labs such as Fort Dietrich, as well as other facilities across the nation, the Democratic candidate revealed.

He also revealed that the CIA sought to enlist Japanese scientists, known for their use of bioweapons during World War II, to participate in the development of a pilot weapons program.

"It's to begin developing a pilot weapons program and to get the Japanese scientists who are the only ones who would ever use actually use bioweapons against the Chinese and kill many, many tens, hundreds of thousands of Chinese before and during World War II with bioweapons," he underlined.

Kennedy also highlighted how then-US President Richard Nixon unilaterally announced the end of the bio-weapons program in 1969, when he went to Fort Dietrich and announced the program's end.

"The American government was going to stop developing bioweapons no matter what anybody else in the world did [...] Nixon closed the Fort Dietrich. They turned it over to NIH (National Institutes of Health) right before that, and they destroyed all the bioweapons before they went destroyed it. The CIA went in and got cultures of all of them and moved them to warehouses in New York and elsewhere," he revealed.

Biolabs and biological weapons are of utmost importance in the current state of affairs, as it was discovered that the United States has been helping with the construction of biolabs in Ukraine. Initially, Washington refused to admit the existence of US Biolabs in Ukraine, however, later in time Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland did.

"Russian troops have secured over 20,000 documents, reference, and analytical materials, and interviewed eyewitnesses and participants in American military-biological programs," since the start of the Ukraine war, Russian Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Defense chief Igor Kirillov said earlier this year.
US provocations to blame for Ukraine war

Turning to the conflict in Ukraine, he said recent revelations indicate that President Putin and President Zelensky signed an agreement in April 2022, which outlined the withdrawal of Russian troops from around Kiev, adding that they were complying with the agreement's stipulations. However, he alleged that then-UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, acting on behalf of the White House, attempted to undermine the accord in question.

"That's not the first time we've we've done that [...] all the nations like France, Germany, and Russia all agreed to the Minsk accords earlier on," he underlined.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted in February that he had previously told German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron that the Minsk agreements were "impossible", and he did not plan on implementing them.

Weeks before the Ukraine war broke out, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia was yet to hear Ukraine's words about readiness to swiftly start the implementation of the Minsk agreements during the meeting between Macron and Zelensky.

Ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who was in office from 2005 to 2021 said in an interview published in early December that the Minsk Accords were signed to "give Ukraine time" to strengthen itself.

Merkel said "The 2014 Minsk agreement was an attempt to give time to Ukraine. It also used this time to become stronger as can be seen today. The Ukraine of 2014-2015 is not the modern Ukraine."
Man of peace

The Ukrainian people, yearning for peace, elected President Zelensky, a comedian and actor, based on his promise to sign the Minsk Accords, Kennedy underlined, highlighting that Zelensky broke his promise to the people of Ukraine. Yet, pressure from individuals like Victoria Nuland, in tandem with ultranationalist factions within Ukraine, pushed the government to pivot away from these agreements, he divulged.

The war in Ukraine has claimed the lives of an estimated 350,000 young men. While acknowledging the brutality and illegality of the conflict, the role of external provocations, including those by the United States since 1997, should also be looked into as a reason for the outbreak of the brutal war, Kennedy said.

"He ran as the peace candidate. You guys, this is a guy who is a comedian and an actor [...] he was not a politician, a veteran politician. Why did people vote for him? They voted for him because he was the peace candidate, and the Ukrainian people wanted peace," he said.

"I think it's going to be quite easy to get out of the war in Ukraine," the Democrat candidate added.
US military presence abroad

Another significant aspect he touched on was the excessive military expenditures of the United States. Despite promises of a peace dividend following the end of the Cold War, the country currently maintains approximately 800 military bases worldwide, surpassing other nations by a significant margin.

The exorbitant defense budget, now reaching $1.3 trillion dollars, far exceeding the original projection of $200 billion dollars, has impacted the economy, national strength, and the well-being of the middle class.

"The Chinese have one and a half bases. I don't know if the Russians have any now, you know, outside of the Ukraine. I don't know if they have any. And we have each one of those bases as a platform for a future war," the presidential candidate highlighted.

"We were told we were going to get a peace dividend [after the collapse of the Soviet Union]. We were told that we would stop investing billion of dollars in bombers that can't fly in the rain. And then we would bring that money home to build schools and roads and infrastructure and help it lower taxes and help, you know, help farmers convert to regenerative agriculture [...] But none of that happened," the nephew of former US President John Kennedy said.

RFK had previously explained that Russia made it clear what its demands were before the war began and that the US should have given in to its demands. He explained that the US and NATO continued to move eastward after agreeing with the dismantled Soviet Union in 1991 that they would not do so.

"We spend three times what China spends. It's not good for our economy. It's not good for our national strength. And it has not helped American security or safety," he added, arguing that the US, instead, was in "much more danger" due to its military "adventures" abroad.

He proposed winding down military ventures and redirecting resources towards rebuilding the country's industrial base and fostering entrepreneurial opportunities for Americans. This, he argues, would allow for a more secure and prosperous future.

Furthermore, he pledged that if he were to become president, he would wind down the country's military spending and start instead rebuilding its industrial base.
Assange, Snowden to be pardoned

Finally, in a bold and shocking statement, Kennedy pledged to pardon both Julian Assange and Edward Snowden if he were to be elected as president, highlighting the lack of support from the American press and publishers for Assange's release. Kennedy emphasized the importance of recognizing Assange's role as a publisher and stressed the significance of his actions in exposing classified information to the public.

Moreover, he turned his attention to Edward Snowden, asserting that Congress has effectively made a case for his pardon. He referred to the revelations Snowden brought to light, revealing extensive surveillance practices by the intelligence apparatus. Kennedy highlighted the unlawful collection and archiving of personal data, which came as a shock to both the public and Congress itself. Subsequently, Congress passed legislation aimed at safeguarding citizens against such encroachments on privacy.

Kennedy maintained that Snowden's actions aligned with deeply held American values, including the pursuit of personal courage and the defense of democratic ideals. By exposing the mass surveillance programs, Snowden contributed to the ongoing debate surrounding privacy rights and government transparency.

His public support for pardoning both Assange and Snowden underscores the growing recognition of their impact on public awareness and the need to reassess the treatment of whistleblowers in the United States.

Assange has been at the Belmarsh prison in London for more than 1,500 days. He was unlawfully charged in the US with 17 counts of "espionage" and one count of computer misuse, connected to him leaking tens of thousands of military and diplomatic documents that exposed US war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Assange is currently facing prosecution in the United States under the Espionage Act, which marks a new precedent, as the legislation was never utilized against classified information being made public.

In Assange's case, he's been unlawfully charged in the US with 17 counts of "espionage" and one count of computer misuse, connected to him leaking tens of thousands of military and diplomatic documents that exposed US war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The journalist faces a 175-year prison sentence following the approval of extradition to the US by the UK High Court in December 2021.

Kennedy has long been vocal against the Ukraine war and the way the US government handles domestic issues and its foreign policy, and he is making a bid for the presidency on a democratic platform.

Rape, sexual violence, torture

The UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) revealed in a report on Tuesday that the United Nations has recorded a significant increase in law violations by Ukrainian forces since the start of the war in Ukraine

"Since 24 February 2022, OHCHR has documented a significant increase in violations of the right to liberty and security of person by Ukrainian security forces," the report read.

It highlighted that "out of the overall number of such cases, OHCHR documented 75 cases of arbitrary detention of civilians (17 women, 57 men, and 1 boy), some of which also amounted to enforced disappearances, mostly perpetrated by law enforcement authorities or the Armed Forces of Ukraine."

According to the report, dozens of civilians were tortured "in official pre-trial detention facilities."

"Of further concern, OHCHR has documented the arrests of several civilians involved in distribution of humanitarian aid" in territory controlled by Russian forces, the report added.

It also documented the use of 29 unofficial places of detention by Ukrainian forces, including "apartments, sanatoriums, basements of abandoned buildings, police precincts, basements and administrative premises of local Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) offices and other temporary detention facilities run by the SBU."

The report recorded "65 cases where Ukrainian State agents held detainees for periods ranging from several hours to 135 days in unofficial places of detention, including apartments, hotels, hostels, basements and premises of local law enforcement offices."

OHCHR explained that "the practice of keeping detainees in unofficial places of detention outside the protection of the law appeared to be applied to coerce detainees to confess or make self-incriminating statements, which occasionally were video-recorded."

It revealed that "Individuals told OHCHR that the stress and fear stemming from isolation and secret detention coerced them into confessing conduct they had not engaged in."

"Detention in unofficial places was often incommunicado. In 18 cases, detainees (12 men and 6 women) were held incommunicado from four to 135 days."

It continued, "During that period, detainees had no access to legal representation, were often subjected to interrogations that reportedly involved torture and ill-treatment, and were not informed of the next stages of their detention."

The report mentioned that "43 (34 men and 9 women) gave credible and reliable accounts of torture and ill-treatment of by law enforcement officers, members of the armed forces, or guards in unofficial places of detention or – to a much lesser extent – in official pre-trial detention facilities."

According to the report, 40 detainees "reported being tortured or ill-treated during interrogations, mainly during the period immediately following their arrest and prior to being brought before court and put in an official place of pre-trial detention."

"Methods included beatings, electrocution with tasers, sexual violence, including beating of sexual and reproductive organs, forced nudity, threats of genital mutilation and rape against detainees or their loved ones, threats of execution, threats with loaded guns of being shot in the limbs, and threats of being brought to the front line and abandoned there."

Elsewhere, "detainees told OHCHR that torture and ill-treatment were used to extract confessions or information, or to otherwise make the detainees cooperate, to extort money and property, as well as to punish, humiliate and intimidate," the report mentioned.
