Three car bomb blasts in three different neighborhoods of the city have left dozens of casualties and have caused severe damage.

Today, Monday, April 15, the first blast occurred at 7:45 in the morning in the Almas neighborhood, near the Computer Institute, leaving dozens of casualties and among them were also fatalities.

A Kirkuk Now reporter said “The blast was in the Almas neighborhood, as a BMW vehicle was detonated with a remote control; when we went to the scene of the blast, the injured and the bodies of the dead had been taken away, but there was blood everywhere.”

A source from the local police told Kirkuk Now “The vehicle was detonated when the bodyguards of the president of Kirkuk University were passing by,” without mentioning any information on the casualties.

According to the Kirkuk Now reporter, the second blast was also a car bomb in the Mussala neighborhood and similar to the first attack as it was also detonated by remote control.

The third blast was in the Panja Ali neighborhood and targeted a convoy of the Kirkuk police, and the blast was similar to the other two.

“The third blast left two persons dead and another three injured,” the Kirkuk Now reporter stated.
