He was cared for by his wife, who he remained devoted to for 50 yearsSir Terry Wogan kept his fight against cancer a secret from everyone but close family members because he did not want to 'make a fuss', friends said yesterday.
The veteran broadcaster died yesterday at 77 surrounded by loved-ones after his health deteriorated rapidly.

The star – whose long-running Radio 2 breakfast show catapulted him to nationwide fame – was hailed as the country's greatest broadcaster.
The Prime Minister led tributes, describing Sir Terry as 'someone millions came to feel was their own special friend'.
But signs of his poor health were revealed in November when he pulled out of presenting the Children In Need telethon on the eve of the broadcast, blaming his withdrawal on surgery for his back.
