You see the "Azeri" were Kurds, Talysh, Persians and other Iranic people... They lived in those lands before the Turkmen invasion and Mongolian invasion... So when the Turkmen came, they settled in Azerbaycan mostly - while some went further to Chaldiran (Kurdistan) where they fought against the Roman Empire, and won - and then they moved even further west - and settled around Ankara, Bursa and Konya - Central Anatolia, in other words...

But the largest number of Turkmen remained in Azerbaycan - and that eventually assimilated the people in that region (Kurds, Talysh, Persian etc.) to speak Turkmen instead of Kurdish, Persian, Talysh etc... Before they came, Azar Padegan (real name of Azerbaycan) was under Kurdish rule... You can check Wikipedia for this information - The Shaddadide dynasty I think it was...

And so the people of Azar Padegan were under Turkmen rule and assimilated into speaking Turkmen... But they are culturally and socially Iranic, not Turkman...

With time, they developed their own dialect... Since they were not in direct contact with other Turkmen tribes...

Anyway... You are you, Nuray... You can be Arab, Persian, Kurdish, Turkish, French or even African if you wish...

It's in your heart... You are a human and you have a mind! :) You decide who you are...

thanks for taking time to share info. if what you say is fact than that would mean i am iranic and zaza. i will do search on wikipedia... i know i am human but i want to know my genealogy. ;)

Your genealogy is a mixture of Zhor and Homo Erectus, like the rest of us. You are a descendent of Cleopatra of Egypt (who was the descendent of a Macedonian General who held land conquered by Alexander the Great) and Sargon the Great, which means you have a very minor Akkadian and Macedonian Greek heritage, but this is very common for anyone from Turkey.

By the way, why do you have a Zhor's eye as your avatar? I can tell by the red eye and grey skin.

That doesn't make any sense.

"How happy is the one who says I am a Turk" is the actual phrase - but you couldn't know - so I understand you didn't get the point...

Now please explain to me how Assyrians are gonna be right about the Kurds... Or should I rephrase: What are they gonna be right about?

No it is just so freakishly lame. You have to show some logic or at least make some sense in telling a joke. Otherwise, the joke is lame and hardly "gettable." It is not my fault that I happen to "know" this.

Now please explain to me how Assyrians are gonna be right about the Kurds... Or should I rephrase: What are they gonna be right about?

Oh it quite something Rumtaya could tell you. Even though there have been cases of which Turks have massacred Kurds and vice versa (at least that is what your Turkish Friend would say on that part, even if you would disagree), the Kurds are still acting in "good" terms as friends with the Turks and therefore show no ability to grant themselves independence. The Assyrians believe that "Kurdistan" would just become a puppet state or territory off of Turkey that would eventually be taken over ethnically and be renamed a Turkish name. On the otherhand, any Assyrian would tell you that Assyrians show no backwards loyalty to any country and wouldn't become a puppet state to any neighboring force, for which they show almost all the time in a discussion board on any Kurdish forum (like this one for example).

By the way Baris looks a lot like my hispanic friends from Peru, even though I know Baris is not hispanic.
