Well shaikan is massive it's 10 billion bpd reserve, Kirkuk was 16 billin bpd when first discovered 80 years ago . We do have the biggest fields bigger than Kirkuk baba field , they are Khurmala (currently supply Local demand) and Avana (proven reserve not producing) and KRG's overall reserve is now sitting on 44 billion and once all explorations are over including those in sliced off areas currently under Kurdish control as the map shows it is quite likely the oil reserve will hit 100 billion , plus don't forget our gas reserves either which is 100-200 trillion cmf , bear in mind Australian gas reserve is only 30 billion and been producing since the 60s and it's still ongoing and HEAPS left of it , so imagine our oil and gas reserved which according to a recent international research Kurdistan and Iraq Too will run out last .

Yes , Khurmala dome in Erbil is the giant field that is connected to Khabat refinery . Petrol per liter is 45 cent last time I was there and the oil is from the Khabat refinery and on the pump it says "Kurdistan" at the gas station and there is beji and another which I cant recall .

Basically buying water in bottles is more expensive than oil/fuel .

The OIL & GAS YEAR-2012 KURDISTAN

PostAuthor: brendar » Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:56 pm

Guys, I've got held of a very new book called "THE OIL AND GAS YEAR" 2012 edition. Basically, it has not been published yet and i think it is just for the investors to use. This book is very thick and i haven't started reading it yet, but it has all the kind of information about oil companies and oil fields in kurdistan. Also, it has 3 big maps about oil fields inside it which is like 6 times the book size! I will read it and give you guys some information.

These are some pictures of the book.

"The Oil & Gas Year Kurdistan Region of Iraq 2012 is now out, featuring updated news and information as well as interviews with the region's oil and gas leaders, including the Minister of Natural Resources Dr. Ashti Hawrami, Genel Energy's Tony Hayward and Mehmet Sepil, Todd Kozel of Gulf Keystone and Jean Claude Gandur of Oryx Petroleum. The book also contains excerpts from the TOGY Strategic Roundtable Kurdistan Region of Iraq 2012, in which prominent leaders discuss the big issues for the oil and gas industry in the Kurdistan Region."

It should be sold on this website below, but it looks like it is not there yet. Maybe in next few days or weeks!

The Strategic Round Table: Kurdistan Region of Iraq 2012

PostAuthor: brendar » Sat Jun 30, 2012 12:11 pm

On Monday May 16, 2012, The Oil and Gas Year, in partnership with the Kurdistan Regional Government, held its second Kurdistan Region of Iraq Strategic Roundtable. The subject of this year’s event was “Proven, Probable and Possible: The changing investment landscape of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.” A range of issues were covered, including mergers and acquisitions, the level and type of risks in the region, problems associated with the scarcity of oil and gas services and the emergence of domestic companies.

This was held at Istanbul.
